Title: If the K-State thing doesn't work out, back to the big 10 w/Nebraska?
Post by: Trim on April 11, 2012, 12:37:43 AM
Quote
SE: AAU basketball ... for it or against it?

BW: It has its positives, but what I don't like is winning doesn't matter because you're playing so many games.  And then the kids play too much and don't work on skills.  If you could find an in between, it would be great.  What it does is give kids a chance to compete against top quality kids, but if you do it too much, then it becomes a negative.

Because lord knows you can't develop basketball skills while playing basketball games.

Didn't Frank have similar thoughts about AAU, something along the lines of kids playing AAU ball all the time and not going to camps where they work on overall skills and fundamentals?

the best way to improve conditioning isn't to play more games.  same with skills.

I can't believe Weber said the exact same thing about AAU basketball that Tom Osborne said.

Hey, if John Currie can assert that everybody's cool with what's happened in the past few weeks because donations over the past year haven't dropped, I can make reaches like this too.

:gocho:

So, like, I’m all for pitch forks and everything, but only if there’s a Frankenstein, not if it’s just some dude in goth.

Wake me when he says "I don't want to play the AAU game" or "We can do fine without the AAU kids"

As much as I hate Weber, this quote doesn't do anything for me

I feel as though my legitimate hate and the facts speak for themselves.  If the crap that has gone on doesn't convince someone, I can't see any Propaganda getting the job done
