Michigan coach Beilein ....lol How dumb can you be.
Lets his team just sit back and let Evan Turner just stroll up and take the shot. I know he hit a 40 footer.... but still, they could have made it so much tougher.
Extend your defense .... let Evan Turner catch the ball at the opp. free thrown line, but make him zig zag a little bit on the dribble, so he is taking a 50 footer perhaps a little off balance...... not a shot where is got a full run and nice looking form
F U Beilein :chainsaw:

meh. I didn't see it, but up two the last thing in the world that you want to do there is foul the guy. Sometimes guys make 40 footers. :runaway:
-
i'm sorry. but you have to put someone on the ball.
end of story.

No doubt. If a D1 player can't contest without fouling in that situation they shouldn't be playing.
-
So wait, was there no one even close to him?
If so, I retract. :blank:

try thinking of all-time great buzzer beaters. most of them have to do with a guy inbounding the ball not having a man on him.
the michigan ohio state game the call not to have someone on the ball is wrong, but not terrible. having nobody to pick up turner until halfcourt is just terrible.
the wvu cincy game. not putting a man on the inbounder is just terribly Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!). thankfully jhr and ckell are adept at having very long arms and that frank isn't a dumbstick that wouldn't put someone on the ball in that situation.
-
d00d, don't insult this guy.
If he didn't leave WVU, Huggins would still be here. Frank >>>>>>>>>>>>>Huggins

Beilein tried to destroy KSU basketball. He has failed.

What was the deal with Thad Matta going crazy? Looked like he was taking trash to michigan's bench :dunno:
-
Basketball 101 . . . even token pressure causes more time to be used because it is naturally disruptive. As long as your back guys have their head on a swivel and aren't allowing any over the top stuff, pressuring at minimum 3/4 court naturally forces more clock usage and wilder desperation shots.
Terrible effort by Michigan.
-
Matta is pissed because he already had a classic "this is why you can't overlook teams" postgame gem of a peptalk all ready in his shirt pocket. Now he has to forget it. That or he's mad because Evan Turner just locked up POY and is long gone to the league now, not that OhSt could keep him anyways. "Why can't you gaurd Evan Turner?! Can't you see I'm trying to run a fracking program here?! shazbot! You Michigan!"
-
Totally agree with OP. With only 2.2 seconds to go the length of the court, he should never get a look like that.
-
wow, just now saw the vid. :flush:

_fan, seeking your input here.
in a situation such as the cincy vs. wvu and the michy tOSU game. is putting a man on the inbounder the correct call? it seems bluntly obvious to me.
