Title: Will Doug Still Love Us And Be Available When We Fire Weber?
Post by: steve dave on April 02, 2012, 12:35:21 PM
Will he and Boone be partying in Stillwater by then?  Will he hate us for making him expose his plan and then hiring this washed up planless loser?

We'll make a hire like Wooldrdige after Asbury.  The program will be decimated and once again considered one of the shittiest in the country.

Same excuses for failure will be made:

Can't win here (With KU down the road)
Can't recruit here

I mentioned this in another thread as well.  He'll hate us.  Probably even start making fun of us like everyone else.

gottlieb spoke highly of our 'momentum'.  the assclowns in charge know nothing of sustaining momentum.  the goddamn plane has crashed into the mountain.  :embarrassed:

The long slow slide to the bottom of the mountain will involve LOTS of momentum!  Amiright?   :ksu:

Just the look of one dorkstore slipping another dorkstore into a purple jacket makes my blood boil.

Currie, with his crap eating smirk on his face is reason alone for the Billboard.

I want Pearl to still love us in 2 years, too, if we can get Weber out.  Has anybody emailed him lately?  I would like him to just come here and talk to us some.

I mean, how could you hear that interview w/ Petro and not think, "This is intriguing - I should at least talk to the guy"? HOW?

Give it up.  Weber is here for a minimum of four.  It'll take a small miracle to prevent his getting an extension beyond his original five.

Unless, players start jumping ship this year... which I am still waiting for, I know after the presser Kellis sent out some tweet about everyone staying, but I don't believe that for one second.  If there isn't a transfer in the next couple of weeks, then I will believe it.

If oscar Weber were to moderately exceed expectations this year and manage an elite 8 run, do you guys think that might be enough for some other schools to come calling? Maybe we could PI Weber into going after a lateral move?

that will just give him a "need more time" excuse. I really want as many players to leave as possible, but I don't see enough leaving to do the kind of damage I would like.

It's really our only chance to get a good coach and keep the program in good shape. We need the townies to tell Weber to "Go eff yourself" or "Eat crap, coach" while he is out at the grocery store pretending to be one of us. Then we need to go home and secretly hope he has a ton of success this year.

Clearly a best-case outcome.  But we're K-State, we can't have nice things.

If Weber left after just one season, Currie would end up looking pretty bad, too. Win Win all around.

Unless Weber somehow manages to not even make the tournament with this roster, I don't think a sex scandal would be a big enough deal for Currie to fire him.

That's kinda what I was thinking too. I mean if if the freshman transferred, Angel, Adrian, and Thomas, that would hurt alot this year and the following year. Can't see how Rod or JO could leave as seniors, but I guess you never know.  Other than that, I don't think anyone leaving would negatively affect this team.  LOL, could you just imagine a starting line up of Sprads, Jones, Southwell, Watson, and Foreign 7ft dude.  I mean how many games does that team win?

Jamar was the last redshirt wasn't he?  So, at least in theory, everyone else could go & would have a redshirt year available to burn.  Well played Frank!

Junior high student maybe.  College students aren't going to be much of an issue (unless it's one of his players & the mother of all sexual harassment suits is in there somewhere).

As long as the student is at least 18 (pretty much all of our students are), Currie won't fire him unless he's a huge failure on the court. Off the court problems just don't matter when you are winning.

I think this is our best hope.  I think what we want to hope for is a couple of sweet 16's or mix of sweet 16 and elite 8 and Webby takes a job back in the Big 10 like at Northwestern or something. Currie will be ready to go by then as well.

Agreed. But the chances of this happening are less than 0%.

Weber should get to the sweet 16 this year. I don't think he makes the tournament next year.

I think the "Lets see how he does once [insert player here] is gone" went on long enough with Frank to where hatred could sustain for the Weber hire

It depends on how recruiting goes. I guess if he managed a sweet 16 after losing Rodney and JO, I probably wouldn't mind seeing him stay.

Yeah, that's essentually what I meant. If he makes back to back Sweet 16s, there will be few anti-Weber K-State fans left. Let's be realistic.

But being realistic, I'm highly doubtful that happens. If he keeps the players, he'll have a good shot, but the next year could be NIT at best.
