to ever get fired from coaching basketball at the university of illinois. seems like we might have.
-
Don't forget we also are paying him more than the place he got fired from I think.

Some university has to be the first for everything, just like some university will be the first to hire a non-experienced Doug Gottlieb.

and paying him more than the coach he replaced
-
i really think we might have. they had some guy named harv schmidt back in the 60's that they didn't like very much but it looks like he resigned after seven seasons of slightly above average basketball.
-
Right now I'm to the point that if you said he was Al Quida I would just be like, "yeah, that sounds about right".

jfc, that is ridiculous
-
hmmm...well it looks like they did have to fire a gentleman named harry combes who started his coaching career at illinois back in the 40's. they did not fire him for performance related issues though. it seems like the school had a slush fund set up and that athletes from all sports could request money out of it. the university found out and self reported thinking it would be a slap on the wrist. a vote from other big10 members came back stating that they had to fire all of the coaches involved.

i really think currie just chose to have weber's salary just pick up where franks left off because it would've been too much work to go back and change the books and forecasts. "look the other guy was making this and then was going to make that and then that. you good with all this? great. done. let's go get some long john silvers, i'm hungry."
-
so there you go, kansas state just hired the only person to ever get fired from coaching basketball at the university of illinois over performance based reasons and illinois was willing to pay over 3 million to do it. good job cats.
-
Quit rubbing salt in the wound guys.

Harv Schmidt was sacked for performance, mid 70's. Weber put us through 6 years we hadn't seen since the Schmidt era.

You might have meant that to be sarcastic, but I'm not reading it that way.
