Name ONE coach who was fired* from a BCS school and then had a successful career at a different BCS school.
you can't
*fired for being shitty not being a drunk or something else off court
-
I was just about to post this.
The only thing I can thing of as a possibility is if someone was fired and walked into another situation like Weber did at Illinois where he had a ready made team. But even than I can't think of it.
-
...Eddie Sutton? Did Kentucky fire him?
-
*fired for sucking, not fired for Huggins type causes
-
Limit this to the past 20 years. You know modern college basketball.
-
*fired for sucking, not fired for Huggins type causes
good clarification (I added it)
-
Huggins wasn't fired for basketball performance
What about Lon Kruger?

Which bcs team?

true, I was looking more D1 since the parity in basketball is so different than football.

Frank Haith was going to get fired at Miami...MU fans were just as irate as KSU'ers are meow...but that's because MU fans suck..

Cool. Carry on then.

we wasn't fired though so nope

Frank Haith was going to get fired at Miami
How do you figure? He was kept around because he built a pretty good roster at Miami that was expected to be decent this season.

Extremely similar situation though. In fact Haith did a shattier job at UM than Weber did at Ill. But, MU is very homo so I'm done with that comparo
-
Somehow make this fact into a chart so John Currie can make some rough ridin' sense of it

you don't know what you are talking about and should stop posting
-
Because I'm proving you wrong.
Another, Tommy Amaker.
-
When did the Ivy League join the BCS?
-
Haith had one good year, still had a first round exit, and has yet to recruit his own players. Even if you want to consider him "fired" from Miami, to say he is a success at Mizzou is at best, premature
-
But, but, but....Look at these awesome stats:
Consensus National Coach of the Year
5 Conference Titles
Top 20 of Most Wins in the Nation Last 9 Seasons
Over 300 Career Wins
.669 Career Winning Percentage
33 Years of Coaching Experience
Crazy that UI fired him, we're so lucky :ksu:

you are a rough ridin' idiot who can't read

Sorry for parting Ching :bball:
-
Someone do a list of fired BCS coaches in the last 25 years who still suck and will always suck, and weber and send it to currie to add to his excel chart workbook
-
Stan Heath might do it. But was 43 when fired from Arky and took over a tough situation there. Plus, it's taken some time to rebuild a really shitty USF program. God what I wouldn't do to have Stan Heath right now. I promise you he wouldn't have gotten up today and sounded like complete moron.
-
Sorry for parting Ching :bball:
is "parting" a synonym for moron?

Yes, totally is dude
Tubby Smith

How many fired BCS coaches went to another BCS program immediately? Does that ever happen?
-
Steve Lavin

Mutually exclusive.

What part about having success at the next school aren't you understanding? First of all Tubby quit UK, secondly in his five years at Minnesota he has never finished above 6th in the Big 10 and has yet to win a NCAA tournament game. Is that your idea of success?
-
Steve Lavin
not successful
Took St John's to the 2nd round (real second round) in his first year as coach. Cancer is a bitch, this season doesn't count

If half your tenure at a new school is a "do-over", then it is still to be determined.

So you'd be happy with a 5th place conference finish and the round of 32 as a ceiling for Weber?

5th place in the Big East out of 16 teams, one of which was the National champion, the others Cuse(#12 in nation), ND (#5 in nation), Pitt (#4 in nation), Louisville (#14)

answer my question, I've asked two different ways and you've avoided both. Is what Lavin accomplished at StJ or Tubby at Minnesota what you want for KSU?
-
I would take Steve Lavin, his top ranked recruiting classes, and what he's doing and going to do for SJU for KSU in a heartbeat.

No we will have oscar Weber and his shitty recruiting classes and almost making the NIT.

That isn't what I asked. You are a bad troll.

Well, let's hope that Weber can land a #2 National recruiting class like Lavin at St. Johns.
