Title: Most Profitable AD's
Post by: Rush45 on March 21, 2012, 08:50:30 AM
SIAP

I was surprised not to find this posted on the board, but here is the list of the most profitable AD's in the Big XII.  I was shocked to see how much our revenues have gone up, but it looks like we need to spend more money.

How did Kansas State get to be such a cash cow? They have very low maintenance and depreciation costs, just over $2M. By comparison, 15% of total expenses or over $22M for same items at UT. If I knew more about what’s standard I would break it down further, but those expenses seem to stand out.

We were apparently more profitable than Notre Dame (and WVU broke even).

Also, by looking at the numbers on that site, the only schools in the major conferences that had a greater amount of profit were Alabama, Michigan, Penn State and Texas.   :surprised:

I have a feeling that we might overtake Penn St.

This has been discussed on here before.  But, I don't think we should be profitable.  Or, at least, not to the tune of 25mil.

What are we doing with the profits?

BBall Practice Facility is 100% private finance.  re: the press box "will be completely privately funded - the timeline of the project will be accelerated though the issuance of up to $50 Million in bonds to be serviced through a combination of long-term Ahearn Fund revenues and near-term Construction Contributions."

So, parts of the AD profits will be spent on the press box and our AD expenses in 2012-2013 will be much higher?
