1998 Nub game.  I couldn't remember if this was a fatty video, but I remembered it being awesome so I just assumed it was a fatty original.  I was correct, but not surprised.

When I first met my wife (an avid UT fan) she just didn't get K-State and the passion that fans like fatty exemplified.  She got it after I showed her this video.

Back in those days it was common to see Jayhawk fans at the games, so I'm not surprized that you would be at one of them.  Not comparing you to a Jayhawk, just saying other fans would come to our games when we played other teams.  By the way, this past season I saw some Husker fans along with a few MuZoo and of couse Jayhawk fans... just saying.  ;)

First of all, I'm an ISU student/die-hard...So I do travel to games, so why wouldn't I make a 3.5 hr trip to Lincoln to go to the game? It was my first and only time ever going to memorial stadium...

OK, I didn't watch the vid before I posted.  Just assumed it was a KSU vid, but due to your response, I watched it.  Was that the first time Bo met Paul on the field?  That would be a gem to tell the grandkids latter in life.  :embarrassed:

I really hope this isn't some sick joke. . .

Fatty was the best bbs'r or all time. Not the best K-State bb'sr, but the best of anybody.

The entire nation has lost a great one. Not just us.

This is the first person ever who I've never met personally who's death has brought me to tears.

goEMAW would've never let fatty's name be released if it wasn't true. Besides, as someone who (kind of) knew him in the years that he eased up from PI'ing squawks and youtubing, I think he never would've pulled something like this.

It's definitely hard to believe he's gone though.

Birth of Kansas State football is easily the best K-state video ever made. Potentially the best football video since Rudy.

The countdown to 2007 was an exciting time.

The birth is the best k-state video ever made.  Just magical.  The details, the little nuances, especially.  Like how at the end where he lists off all the bowl game and CCG appearances and the ones we win, he adds another cut of "champions."  Well the '98 CCG is the only one where he had no footage from the game, just a blank, black screen.  Just funny and appropriate.

I'd like to see at least part of the "Birth of K-State Football" shown at the Bill this season.  If not a regular thing in the pregame, then as part of a tribute to fatty before the first game.  Fatty was an excellent face for KSU on the 'net.  I wonder how many kids who were recruited by the 'Cats saw those things.

I don't know how anyone could watch that video and not understand instantly what it meant to be K-State.  For all our ups and downs, how special the fans and the team make this place.

whenever I'm on another board and I need a video to tell people about K-State, I go to this one.  So moving.  One of the greatest stories of all time, done so well by this video.

My wife's favorite song is "What A Wonderful World".  When we make road trips up to Kansas she has about 15 songs that she always listens to on the Ipod over the car radio.  It's a 4-5 hour drive, so I always listen to what I want for 1-2 hours, then I let her pick the songs.  "What a Wonderful World" is always one of the first 3 or 4 songs she picks.  Everytime she plays it, without thinking about it or realizing I'm doing it, I start to say under my breath "On September 30th of 1989 Kansas State was best known..." in the same spot as the Birth video.  She always laughs and tells me it's ridiculous how much I love KSU sports and how I've watched that video so many times that I can't listen to that song without thinking of that video.

The countdown to 2007 was an exciting time.

The summer of 2007 was rough for me. My wife and I had just moved to Tulsa where we didn't know anybody so I could work at a new job which I hated. Within a month of moving we found out her mom's cancer was back and that it was basically a death sentence. Every day I looked forward to the new Countdown post. For 5 minutes everyday Fatty distracted me. My wife went back home a lot that summer to be with her mom. There were a lot of days where that was the best 5 minutes of my day because that countdown was my escape. Thanks Fatty.

In terms of legacy, I have to go with Polumalu is a crap human being, but my favorite is "where amazing happens."

I can't find this one, but once I mentioned the weirdness of Prince telling Freeman to just run around for a few seconds then throw it as far he could to run out out the clock and avoid punting at halftime against Colorado.

fatty responded that the "famously fell asleep" during that game, but immediately pulled up a video of it and posted a
