DeCourcy clowned the ku fanboys on the Border Patrol this morning, who were OUTRAGED yesterday when they learned Aldrich wasn't on EVEN ONE of the FIVE SN All-America teams.

Bukaty:  Why isn't Cole on there!!!?!?!?!

DeDourcy:  He stepped back this year.  He's a great player, and he had a hard time with his gradmother, but his FG & FT percentages went down, and All-Americans just don't have scoring lines of 6, 7, 8, 6, 9.

Bukaty & SSJ:  But he was Big 12 defensive player of the year!!!! He CHANGES GAMES by his presence!!!

DeCourcy:  So does (some other big tall guy).  Doesn't make him an All-American.  You've got to bring it on both ends of the floor, pretty much every night, and Cole didn't do that.

Border Patrol:  Okay, what about Big 12 coach of the year?  Loss to Iowa State should have given it to Self, right?

DeCourcy:  I don't see how it's arguable.  What Frank has done in Manhattan is amazing.  If KU would have won out, sure.  But they didn't, and it opened the door.

Border Patrol:  BUT SCOTT DREW TIED FOR SECOND!!!!!

DeCourcy:  How many weeks was Baylor ranked in the Top 10 this year?

*  crickets  *

DeCourcy:  Frank brought K-State to national relevance.  That makes him the coach of the year.

Aldrich was the most valuable player on the best team in college basketball this season. the things he does on D made Kansas the team it is. when Cole is in the game, he owns the middle. owns it!

Very close.  He was really hurt after his "game winning shot" vs CU got negated by the Pasco walk.

Really am surprised at the regression Ben is taking today.

Jake Pullen hasn't played on teams surrounded by McD AA's and 5 star recruits the last 2 years.

I will give Self credit in putting the together the financial and management handling package that kept Collins in Lawrence for 4 years though.

Collins plays different than Jake.  Comparisons like this are silly.  Especially given the difference in surrounding personnel, as Dax has pointed out.

You also have to take into account that he wouldn't be drawing as many fouls by forearming folks as he does under Bill.

Walker and Beasley was one year.   What about last year Ben??  Where were the the McD AA's??

Now the list of McD AA's and Top 50's  that have played with Collins:

Let's see:

Darrell Arthur
Mario Chalmers
Brandon Rush
Julian Wright
Cole Aldrich
Marcus Morris
Markieff Morris
Travis Releford
Russell Robinson
Sasha Kuan
Darnell Jackson

I've missed a few I am sure.
