Last 9 games, our offense has really struggled. The 10 games prior to that it was pretty good. Here is a quick comparison.....
10 games (Bama thru Texas at home) - This includes 5 Big XII games and NCAA tourney teams LongBeach and Bama=
74.5 Pts/g
45.9% FG (254-553)
39.2% 3pt (67-171)
64.6% FT (168-260)
15.2 Off reb/game
14.7 TOs/game
Last 9 games --- All Big 12 opponents =
63.1 Pts/g
40.4% FG (199-492)
29.7% 3pt (43-145)
68.3% FT (127-186)
14.2 Off rebs/game
15.0 TOs/game
Obviously, shooting the ball has been our big struggle. But this just documents how much we have faded. 3pt down by 9.5%. 11 points/gm less. OUCH!
FT% is acutally a little bit better. Not a big difference in TOs or Off rebounds really
Some other comparisons=
* FGA not much difference (55.3 vs 54.7)
* FTA have gone down (26.0 vs 20.7)
* 3pt att. down just a bit (17.0 vs 16.1)
FAN said that we have held 7 of our last 9 opponents to under .95 PPP.
I know we have held our opp to 58.8 pts/gm and 39.9% FGA in our last 9 games
Just too bad our shooting has dropped off this much the past month

Find your shot in time for the Phillips torn-a-ment Sprads
-
Yep Sprads is culprit #1 = 27.1% FG and 23.1% 3pt in those 9 games
Angel and Gruds = 28.0% combined 3pt
Prior 10 games=
Sprads 45.7% FG and 42.9% 3pt
Gruds/Sprads/Angel 47.2% 3pt

Offense - Bama through UT at home:
PPP eFG% TO% OR% FTR
1.11 52.30 21.90 45.36 47.79
Offense - @OSU through @BU:
PPP eFG% TO% OR% FTR
0.97 44.98 23.19 38.79 38.94
Defense - Bama through UT at home:
PPP eFG% TO% OR% FTR
0.98 46.93 23.46 34.24 42.80
Defense - @OSU through @BU:
PPP eFG% TO% OR% FTR
0.91 44.34 26.33 30.00 55.71
There has been a significant drop in offensive efficiency, but there has also been an improvement in defensive efficiency. Granted, that defensive improvement hasn't matched the offensive reduction, and .97 PPP offensively is pretty bad offense. Only one game at 1.05 PPP or better in the last 9 games and that was the loss at ISU.
-
Yes .97 is rather dismal
That Isu game where we had 1.05+ is the only game we have scored 70 pts in these past 9 games
We scored 70 or more in 9 of the 10 games when our offense was performing better
.91 for Def PPP is just fantastic for these past 9 games
Over 1/4 of poss. we are forcing TOs (26.33%)
Like mentioned before .... the 41.0% on 2pt FGs and 3pt ratio of 26.8%..... both tremendous
Under 10 OR allowed per game (30% OR or 9.6/gm)
And 1 more fact = 13 of the past 18 halves, we have held our opp. to under 30 points.

Looks junkyardy

This year's teams is slightly worse shooting and turning the ball over, but at pretty much everything else we are better. The league is rated better this year as well compared to 08-09.
