Can probably move to the racist 17'r thread.  We all know why it was the worst game of his life.  Not his fault.

It was his worst game and he still physically destroyed the dirtiest player in basketball.  Nice.

Jaking up doesn't mean he becomes as good as jake.  Only that completely takes over every game he is a part of, scores 30pts a game, and wills us to the tourny.

all that matters is that he has confidence.  performance be damned. I've got all the confidence in the world that I could not go 0-8 and turn it over 7 times.  IN THE WORLD.

i was just thinking about how much ar-t reminds me of young sherron collins.  similar builds, similar games (though of course, ar-t is more passy).  collins might have had a slight confidence advantage, but ar-t is certainly in the same range.

I think it is safe to say that ar-t also has a not likely to become grotesquely obese advantage.

if someone told me 4 months ago that ar-t was on track to be my favorite ksu cat of all time (unseating Denis Clemente) I would have punched them in the face and balls and rubbed cayenne pepper into their eyes and balls.  now, I would kind of move my head to the side while nodding and make my eyes big and say, "amazing that there is a chance of that happening. We should be real life friends and talk about it."

That's a really good comparison. Lots of people don't realize how strong Angel is, because they see he's Mexican and think he's the same as Denis.

I understand they play really good basketball on that one Mexican Island, so that's probably why Ar-T stands a chance to be a lot like or maybe better than Denny, who also played on that Mexican Island . . . or so I'm told anyway.

Not even close.  Collins was a 5-star McDonald's All-American prospect who is one of the top 3 or 4 point guards in KU history.  Rodriguez is a slow, unathletic 3-star point guard who can't shoot, pass, or play defense.  His 0 points on 0-8 shooting with 7 turnovers ties for the 3rd-worst performance by a starting point guard this season.

Sucks?  No.  Completely out-matched by KU's long and athletic guards?  Yes.  A big reason why KU was able to win in Manhattan?  Yes.  A future stud?  Probably not.

Watched most your game against 'Bama, LBSU, Texas (twice), Baylor, Oklahoma (twice), and a few others.  I've never watched and thought "wow, that Angel Rodriguez kid is really good."  I have actually been really impressed with Martavious Irving and Thomas Gipson at times, though.

A freshman Sherron would have gotten destroyed by a senior T. Taylor as well.

Speaking of builds, Angel really has a similar build to Jake IMO.  He isn't quite as strong yet but I think he will develop similar floor skills.  He also has a knack for making (though he fails more now than he will in the future) big plays despite not being super quick.  He is quick but not lightning fast.  Jake was similar though I think Angel is a bit quicker than Jake, they are both good at exploiting cracks in defenses.

Angel will also probably be a better ballhandler than JAke if he isn't already.

I see a guy who sees plays devlope and has the confidence to make plays that a lot of players wouldn't see or lack the confidence to try and pull off.  As he gets older he is going to wow us with his playmaking ability.  Hell, if we had more/ better options on the recieving end of some of his passes we would be saying "wow" a lot more.

I hope this was a positive post sys.  I've been wrong so often lately that I don't even know anymore.  I'm in a slump

it sounds like you lack confidence, nicname.  i hope i am wrong.

if someone told me 4 months ago that ar-t was on track to be my favorite ksu cat of all time (unseating Denis Clemente) I would have punched them in the face and balls and rubbed cayenne pepper into their eyes and balls.  now, I would kind of move my head to the side while nodding and make my eyes big and say, "amazing that there is a chance of that happening. We should be real life friends and talk about it."

yep, other than zack, all we do is agree and then agree some more in between our praise for our do-no-wrong athletics department.

IMO this is a great post.

Go Cats!

I've never watched and thought "wow, that Angel Rodriguez kid is really good."

then again, you don't know crap about bball.

Says the self-proclaimed basketball guru who thinks Tyshawn Taylor is terrible.  You are a clown.

If Angel can avoid arrests like Sherron had they could have similar careers.

You and all KU basketball fans thought/ said the same thing the previous three years. Your fanbase is really good at acting like they never disliked players like Taylor and Withey since they're good now. We like to stick by our players from day one.

if i was as legitimately Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) as you i'd sit in a corner and relentlessly nod my head when my betters opined.  i detest your stupidity, but i admire your confidence.

To be fair to Ben, he says that every player for KU is great.  I mean, a guy is allowed to be wrong every once in a while, isn't he?

Don't forget their sad treatment of Todd Reesing.

A friend of mine (female) was in an elevator with Angel last week. He didn't rub his penis on her, but he was eyeing her in a way that made her feel like he might.

His 3-step Miami shuffle at the end of the game damn near cost K-State the game.  But yes, Angel is great!  Please keep him around for as many years as possible!

Baylor's guards are trash outside of Jackson.  You give anyone with a pulse 39 minutes against that team and they'll put up similar numbers.

JFC your BBIQ is disgraceful.  It's a shame such a talented team and coach has to deal with such an ignorant fan base...

Beems has proven once again he knows nothing about basketball. If he didn't have phog talking points to lean on, you'd all know him for an idiot (like he is on the football board where there's no phog wisdom to steal).

When all else fails and you get 44-3'ed, bust out the BBIQ smack.  You clowns have only followed basketball for about five years now, so it's no surprise that you think Angel Rodriguez is the second coming of Sherron Collins.  Dear God you guys are pathetic.
