Surely by now, most of you have seen this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kl1ujzRidmU (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kl1ujzRidmU)
This damn thing pops up on facebook all the time followed by loads of "good for you Dad!" comments by my douche bag friends and people that don't have kids.
Am I the only one that thinks this dad is a bigger spoiled brat than his daughter, and his fly off the handle, act like a whiny douche is exactly what created his fly off the handle act like a whiny douche kid? Do people really think actions like this will provoke logical and well thought out responses by a 14 year old emotional train wreck child?
I got in an argument with someone today that was telling me that if I wasn't a father that was willing to be as harsh as this douche bag then I don't know anything about being a good father. This $!#* is in her 60's and doesn't have kids by the way. Huge Palin fan.

There is absolutely no way facebook survived that.

yeah, seems pretty counter-productive. the kid is a douche because the guy is a douche.
-
With you heinballz, this guy just had the mother of temper tantrums because his daughter said some bad things about him on Facebook that he had to invade her privacy to see. Apple doesn't fall far, this dude can't control himself, models abhorrent behavior, but expects her to break his deplorable legacy.

LOL, you do have the ability to actually be witty.

Bingo. All this does is explains why the kid went off in the first place.

Next time it should be her cell or IPod. Maybe then her car.

She definitely needs the computer taken away. And the iPod, iPad, iPhone, or whatever iFeces she has. I don't know about embarrassing her like that, and destroying a perfectly good computer seems to be a pretty ugly punctuation. I don't know what I would do. I think when it comes to parenting, I like to ask myself WWJBD? (What Would Jack Bauer Do?).

that guy should make his own coffee.

ouch :frown: where did that come from?

Yeah but she probably shouldn't have got all that crap in the first place. Who's at fault for making her a spoiled ass brat? Right now all he's teaching her is how to fear him. Which will either lead to her developing real trust issues and end up a stripper - and judging from her dad, a really ugly stripper - or just become a better liar. Neither of which I would imagine was this guys intention and neither will cause genuine respect for him. I don't know what I would do either - but I always try to discipline with love and this just seems like it would make her hate him. I'd like to think I wouldn't be in that situation because it's clear that kid genuinely feels all of those things regardless of being right or wrong - she feels that way because her parents lead her to believing those things. I rarely ask my kids to do something that doesn't benefit them directly because I'm not trying to raise indentured slaves. When I do I always try to let my kids know how much I appreciate them. As far as chores, if they can't see the value of doing it themselves, they will never do it for themselves when they're out in the real world... If they can't see the value, then what's the point of making them do it? So he didn't have to? Sounds like he is a lazy ass and the kid had a reason for writing the letter. I hope she puts a sledge hammer in the dick heads windshield and runs away from home. She'll probably learn a lot more about being a well adjusted part of society away from that ass hole.

I liked visiting the guys facebook page that had zero privacy settings set up so I could read him saying "wow, what a response!" followed by "I didn't do this to get attention!".

Goddamnit. Now I have to watch the rough ridin' video.

He handled that 45 pretty well.

I can't wait for the first time a cookie goes cooking from the cookie jar. I'll waterboard my kid to find out if they took it.

Love how he wasn't sure how many rounds he had left. In no way will his inability to count ever become an issue.

I'm not OKCat, and I don't usually root for this sort of thing, but a "herp derp, reckon there ain't any more in the clip" followed by a self-inflicted (non-lethal) gunshot wound would've really provided the instant karmic gratification that I crave. Unfortunately, there is going to be a longer arc, involving much more stupid and much more pain for his daughter who is clearly largely a victim of circumstance.
-
Yes, the daughter will grow up to be a whore.

I am beginning to think the whole thing was orchestrated to create a viral video.

I think you are giving the toothless redneck dad way more credit than he deserves.
