Title: Jamar in the record books?
Post by: CNS on February 05, 2012, 02:01:15 PM
When he got his 3rd foul, Mitch said that Jamar has more career fouls than any other Wildcat ever.

Anyone confirm?

Fantastic stat to hold if true.  There should be a compilation vid of his top 10 on senior night.

Yes he is the all time leader and it isn't even close.  Going into the year he was only 11 behind my man, Ben Mitchell (he was a McDonald's AA).  It is also worth noting that Jamar is currently and will finish third all time in FT makes and attempts.  You guys should read the game notes, they have a wealth of info.

I have a feeling Angel will pass him in FT makes and FT attempts before he graduates.

oh man. when he laid back down on the legs of that a&m player so the player couldn't get up and chase that loose ball down.

i mean he didn't get called for anything but it would have to be included in any top 10.

He's had this record wrapped up for a long time. Jamar is my favorite away-from-the-ball player of all time, too.

I used to work at pita pit during jamar's redshirt year. One time before the season started he ordered a pita to be delivered to bramlage. When I got there, there was a kid's camp going on, and I didn't see jamar anywhere. Some team assistant asked me who I was here for, and I said jamar. He said "He ordered food? That son of a bitch!" Turns out he was hiding in the locker room so he didn't have to deal with all the millions of kids. I have been in love ever since.

Yes. I get really disappointed with the amount of Jamar hate from some of our fans.

Wow, this puts Jamar squarely in first place for me.  Sorry, Jake Pullen, I will need to read a really good random BBS anecdote about you in order for you to reclaim most favoritest.

I've tried to figure out why this is for 27 years. Answer, they're just Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).  :embarrassed:

I really like Jamar. I think the Jamar hate comes from the recruiting class he was in. All the hype that surrounded it.

Also, Pullen was a Top 100 recruit? When I go back and look at the class on espn, it says he was top 100? I didn't know that. I thought he was our 3star, hard work, dedication posterboy?

EDIT: Granted I know the initial class skewed these results, and I'm throwing in Walker with 07. 5 top 100 recruits in 6 years is kind of what I would expect for KSU? If we could continue that moving forward I would be pleased with recruiting.

Is there an advanced stat that combines fouls committed, minutes played, and 2 foot baskets missed?

I think Jamar is just an excellent 6th man on a great team, like he was 2 years ago. I don't think he is the carry the team etc player. I can't get mad at him for being on a team that forces him to do more than he is capable of. It is frustrating, and he can be at times. I wish he was an all conference player, but I don't think he was ever destined for that.

OK. That makes the pain from all my broken expectations for Jamar a bit less painful.  Thank you.

Agreed. Nothing exposes racists and idiots faster than understanding where they stand on Jamar

Especially after a game where he gets 4 or 5 fouls and scores 4 or 6 pts.

Still 1st in the conference in FTr, believe it or not he is 5th in the conference in fouls per game and 9th in total fouls.  He's getting much more than he's giving

Oh, I get it.  I meant that the idiots really come out against Jamar if his pts don't add up to much in games he has a lot of fouls in.  The Twitter hate for him, by tucks and others, has been pretty ratcheted up the last week or so.

Both Rivals and Scout had Pullen rated as a 3*, outside of their Top 150 and 100 respectively.

I think a lot of people were/are pretty much basing the "he was just a 3*" based on his Rivals ranking.

Plus, it might be wise to consider that until recently, ESPN hoops recruiting rankings, were not considered to be the most credible in the world. I mean, they had Beasley ranked 8th in that class(behind Kyle Singler, Nolan Smith, and Austin Freeman - all great players in their own right, but not Beasley level). Recently though ESPN has really upped their game in that department(I think Telep and Rankin are really good) and are generally considered to be much more reputable these days.

They sure didn't miss the boat with Pullen though.

And for the record, Jamar is also one of my favorite all-time Cats.  the scrappiness, the extracurriculars, and everything in between.

Classic tweener but he busts his ass out there to make it work for his team somehow, someway. #teamjamsam
