Pig is one of my favorite foods...in almost all forms. That article is rough ridin' depressing. Thanks, bad person. :dubious:

I like ribs, pulled pork, ham, bacon and tenderloin. Pork Chops can GTFOOMF

That article depressed me :frown:. Makes me wonder how much is exagerated and what is horrifyingly true.

The article was almost completely one-sided, but pig farms are very nasty. I don't think much was exaggerated.

It's funny the people that always harp about the evils of the food industry are also the ones who want to feed the world.
Imagine how much less food the world would have if we weren't killing all these animals and only growing organic vegetables. I would guess about a 1/3rd of the world would be in famine.

Nasty enough that I won't eat any kind of pork for about 24 hours.
I have to call bullshit (pigshit??) on the part of the article where 5 family members died trying to save each other. "Hey look, Billy Bob fell in a pig crap lagoon. I'll jump in and save him!" "Oh Billy Bob and Billy Ray both fell in a pig crap lagoon, I'll jump in and save both of them!!" And so on until 5 idiots are all dead.

True, but there is a big middle ground between organic farming and pig facilities that house 500,000 pigs.

The % of people who die in the act of trying to save someone else in a workplace situ is staggering. I don't remember the actual number but it is big(from OSHA classes)

This is bolonga. :bait: The shifting of so many resources to a single food source is insane. What happens when an event happens that wipes out said food souce. Having huge facilities like this is just asking for huge catastophies. Same goes for all commodities.

Dont really care about how my bacon is produced but I had no idea how many scattered pig farms there were in NC.
If you find New Bern in google maps and pan to the north northwest there are hundreds upon hundreds of 5-10 building groups with pink ponds right next to them.
