I don't know the details of his contract but I'm guessing we could match/exceed whatever KU is paying him. The guy has proved time and time again that he is a great coach. I mean, 6 straight conference titles, wow, that is quite an accomplishment. Should we pull the trigger? I say yes.
-
I highly doubt we could get him, but Currie would be out of his mind if he doesn't offer him 7 figures after this season. Talk about a talented coach...

I look at it like this:
Arena: huge advantage KSU
Fan Loyalty: slight advantage for KSU
Realistic expectations: advantage KSU
Tradition: slight edge to KU
Thats a 3 to 1 advantage for KSU. What am I missing here? Why not go after him?

You high?
Arena: Allen Fieldhouse and Cameron Indoor are the best arenas in college basketball. You have obviously never been to a game in Allen Fieldhouse if you think that Bramlage is even close to level that Allen Fieldhouse is on
Fan Loyalty: Every home game coached by Bill Self while at Kansas has been sold out, nuff said..
Realistic Expectations: Every year we expect to be a top ten team in the country and expect to win the conference, and what do we do each year....? We finish the season in the top ten and we win the conference
Tradition: I don't have to even explain why Kansas has a huge advantage here
That's a 4 to 0 advantage for KU. He didn't take a big pay upgrade to coach at his alma mater so why in the eff do you think he would even consider coaching at K-State, Kansas' little brother. Kansas is a top 5 coaching position in the nation.
-
K-State, Kansas' little brother.
K-State is older than KU. Nice try, little brother.
-
Kansas is a top 5 coaching position in the nation.
Sorry lil bro, that's just horribly wrong.
UCLA
UNC
Duke
Kentucky
Indiana
Syracuse
tOSU
Florida
UConn
etc, etc.
I mean did you not even see the blue blood thread? I thought we basically had this sorted out, jfc.

I bet we can outdo any courtesy cars Self gets now, and there's no doubt we could outfit his lawn/landscape crew with the best equipment/supplies/advice/tips to create a flourishing, year round festival of horticultural goodness.
Clear advantage . . . K-State.

It's a good thing you guys don't expect to get to the final four, I guess.

I believe you are all forgetting the biggest "perk" we can offer Bill that Little Brother can not: The official Honey Drink of K-State Basketball. I speak of course about Rev Honey!

I don't think those elite programs hang Helms Title banners as "national championships".
-
can confirm that UNC does have Helms banners hanging in Dean Smith Center
-
I would guess what's most appealing to Self about KSU is the way we love our players. After the hell he's seen Tyshawn go through this year, and Selby and Xavier go through the last 2 years, I would imagine he wants out and fast.

Damn, missed that 1924 "title". Looks like it was hung before Roy got there too.

Does bill like Steak and such . . . because I suspect K-State can keep him knee deep in prime cuts of beef.
Advantage . . . K-State
