we had a pg get within a step of the rim with no defender near him.  did you want a play diagrammed that would entice the entire baylor team to guard their own basket?

a faster (fast) pg would have gotten to the rim, and hopefully made the bucket.

Ok. But that didn't happen therefore Martin should have a better in bounds play drawn up for this kind of situation. Didn't we have one more time out left with 3 and a half seconds left?

Of course I have. Which is why I'm confident on this instance the guy was instructed to throw at the rim come hell or high water, because there is no way he was Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) enough to think it was actually open.

dumb play, why run a play knowing you're going to the 2nd or 3rd option as the 1st option?

running a lob to a 6'4" jamar into a very long athletic baylor was stupid.

Seeing you all complain about the officials is laughable.  You guys were in the freaking double bonus with 10:16 left in the second half.  At that point the fouls were 27-13, and free throw attempts were 21-9.  Gripe all you want, but Baylor came into your house and beat you despite being screwed to the wall by the refs.  Should be a great game in Waco...looking forward to it.

Let's see....the "charge" near the end that Spradling took...at least three calls on Jackson accounted for by all the fans that cried at the slightest bit of pressure......the three pointer and one call........etc.  My point is not that Baylor didn't get away with any calls, it's that if you look at the stats, K-State clearly had more calls.

There is no reason for him to be in the game down the stretch with his idiotic play tonight.  None.

the 3 he hit, the foul he drew right after, the getting to the rim and throwing it 2 inches to low, the getting to the rim and losing the ball right before he would have had a game tieing layup?

i mean, c'mon.  he was inches away from winning that game on like 5 plays.  yeah, he mumped up.  he's a freshman playing against a team with 2 lottery picks and a bunch of other solid college players.  you won't deserve the next 3 years of teamar-t if you bitch about him now.

Angel's two turnovers in the last two minutes are the definition of careless.  The 1-3 free throws and errant inbounds pass was just the icing on the cake.

But, this is what happens when you rely on unseasoned, mistake prone players to win against good teams.

The problem isn't a failure to recognize that he "is what he is." The problem is that he is what he has been for 4 years now.

And consistently failing to finish at the rim (contested or otherwise) simply ups the animosity/frustration levels appropriately.

i like jamar.  don't understand the hate he gets here either.  but then i realize that 95% of you don't know crap about basketball.  and then i understand it.

You don't have to know crap about basketball, or have a functional god damn brain for that matter, to know he is complete crap at finishing a play or being able to convert a wide-open uncontested layup

that's ok, if that's how you feel.  i won't tell you how to feel.

I wasn't aware that how I felt while watching a game would affect Jamar's ability to finish inside 2 feet.

ohhh, great talking point!

I've got an idea, lets hate Martavious because he messes up a fast break like every single game. I know he does tons of stuff well, but JFC. :jerk:

I'm not asking Jamar to come out and put up 20/10 every single game, just MAKE A GOD DAMN WIDE OPEN rough ridin' UNCONTESTED GOD DAMN LAYUP!  I know he does a lot good for us but jfc it gets old game after game after game...somebody has got to tell him to quit being a dumbass at some point I would think

Jamar shoots 49% from 2. It could be a little better, but that's better than Gipson. eff your stupid eye tests.

The problem is it was 53% as a FR and 58% as a SO. No one is asking him to be more than he is, just be what he's shown he can be. I guess 49% is better than the 45% he shot from 2 last year. I don't think its too much to critique that part of his game, especially in his SR year after he's shown he can be better than a 50% shooter on 2s. I love his energy and his defense and his rebounding. He played really, really hard last night, I will never fault his effort, I just wish he was a better finisher and didn't change his shot in mid-air when he didn't need to. That's all.

About 49% at the rim sounds about right.  It's not like I'm sitting here bitching saying...man I wish he got more rebounds, wish he blocked more shots, wish he played better defense, wish...noone is saying that or bitching about anything else he does Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).  QUIT BEING A DUMBFUCK AT THE RIM AND MAKE A rough ridin' UNCONTESTED LAYUP!!!

good points, but Jamar's inside shots get way more attention than they deserve.

The problem isn't a failure to recognize that he "is what he is." The problem is that he is what he has been for 4 years now.

If Jamar was SO Jamar (offensively) there would be far fewer complaints.

Yeah, I was just making the overall point that he has not progressed from what we saw from him as an underclassman. 3-4 years ago we were giddy about the prospects of SR Jamar.

That giddiness is a faded memory.

Jamar seems to shoot his free throws much better this year, which is encouraging.  Maybe one of you stats guru's can confirm.

Man.  The 'tuck Jr's that sit behind me in Sect 17 agree w/ the Jamar haters.  The hayseed hate was overflowing last night.  Not just for Jamar, either.  One tuck Jr was constantly yelling at JO and Frank that he was right all along as far as the ability of JO.  Apparently, this tuck Jr told Frank and JO, back when JO was a frosh, that JO would never be good.   :horrorsurprise:

Also, 'tuck Jr's have a real hard time understanding college defense vs what they played in their 3 on 3 half court hayseed league in high school.

Stanbot stated that "Jamar Samuels is comfortable at the free throw line" last night.  :surprised:

Showing my lack of basketball foresight, I thought getting them out of the zone would help. Guess not...

They're much more talented than us, we played tough. I didn't leave too disappointed.

Pierre Jackson completely changes this team. Best team they've had at Baylor in the Scott Drew era. I still think he is a highly overrated coach though.
