KU is 43-3 vs. the hayseeds in our last 46 matchups. 69-7 since Ted Owens was fired. If there's a legitimate reason why K-State still fields a men's basketball program, I'd love to hear it.

Congrats.

Beems, you have worked so hard. I am just glad your diligence, dedication, and hard work has paid off.

rivalry? Mods?! when did we agree to this?

Beems is the BBS equivalent.

Now bring up Wilt Chamberlain. Then, link some Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) article that ranks atmospheres. And finally, say something like "you make DVDs for regular season wins, we make them for championships"

Because we play 28 other games and don't really care about KU any more than ISU? But Texas <--- :chainsaw:
-
we're not a bad program, actually we're really good. still top 25. i think we're going to be good this season and we certainly can't define our success on how we do compared to one of college basketball's blue blood programs.
i was skeptical of this team early in the season but after the past month or so, i'm hoping we can punch another ticket to the big dance, come march.

is this a hoops only question, OregonHawk? if so i'd say no there probably isn't a more lopsided "rivalry".
i can't find a site like football.stassen.com for hoops
what is the record of the UNC vs NC State rivalry over the last 18 years?
UT vs Baylor really isn't a rivalry is it. but i think the Horns owned Bible Aggie for a long time.
UConn over Seton Hall until this year. it was like 10 years. who is UConn's rival? was it Seton Hall at one time?
there are no basketball rivalries in the SEC are there?
good question for discussion.
-
So we're a rival when the beat us, but not so much when they lose?
-
So we're a rival when the beat us, but not so much when they lose?
Rivalry Update!: Self openly acknowledged to Fescoe on 610 that they will be applying for rivalry status with us now that MU is gone. I don't know when the formal paperwork will be filed, but I have a feeling that, no matter when it is finally filed, BSAC will inform them that they just missed the deadline.
-
You're so happy. KU's fallen so far.
-
I went last night luckily the smell of funnel cakes somewhat masked the smell of piss. Good crowd though beems. although ku fans do seem a little more jayhawktardy than many tucks. I mean cheering for frisbee dogs and tyshawn taylors pop up video
-
To answer your questions, yes there is: K-state vs Texas
-
He has a real edge to him now, like I can't see that soft warm interior any more. What have we done.
-
iceman. power beems. his assault on the world begins now. :ohno:
-
swim in it beems.

There is true hatred in his heart. What on earth got into him? I thought we were supposed to be the angry ones?
Can't we all just get along?

It's probably that new Football facade we're setting up on the west side of our stadium and the new basketball practice facility. It only enforces how much richer we are as a fanbase. More giving too.

Come back when you have teams ranked in more than one sport, in the same year. We don't spend all our football money on the basketball program.
Your time would be better spent fishing your goalposts out of the local culverts. Of course, if KU would build an actual stadium, sans track around the field like a podunk high school, you wouldn't have to worry about that, right?
Keep talking smack about basketball...until the tournament, where KU almost invariably fails in laughable fashion. Forget VCU; I'm still laughing about the year before, where you got bounced by Northeastern Upper Ice Cream Tech in the second round. Using your own logic, historically, they own you in that rivalry, correct? Bradley, Bucknell...great rivalries, with KU getting owned, right?

Closing the gap.

I wouldn't call it a rivalry
But Kentucky owns KU 20-6....
So yes, there are more lopsided "rivalries"

59-7, 59-21 in lawrence. jesus. f*ck off.

So, we've won 4 of the last 7 at home, and KU fans acted like legitimate crazy people all over the internet today. Apparently there is a limit to how long they can hold in all the insanity and toxic rage that is usually reserved for Missouri. Haven't heard much about how we're not their rivals today, just a lot of sociopaths validating their imaginary moral high ground. I think our rivalry is getting healthier (at least in hobby sport, obviously they can't touch us in the real thing).
-
Can I pass the math torch off to this guy

Once we tear down their goalposts on Thanksgiving Saturday next Fall, the $hit is going to get real.

I think Beems is going to take another sabbatical from gE. :frown: This one really bothered him.

He seemed pretty upset on twitter yesterday. Compared us to a terrorist group.

So now the series is up to a highly competitive 49-5 in the last 54 matchups. 75-9 since Ted Owens was fired. K-State is quickly closing the gap!

2-1 in the last 3. Anyone can choose arbitrary starting points.
-
I don't remember any national media outrage when KU rushed the field in those games. It was just a bunch of college kids having a good time. No one attacked any opposing team's players or coaches. Everyone was just excited that KU actually won a Big 12 football game for once. But yeah, it's the EXACT same as violently rushing the court, pinning coaches against the press table, and attacking KU players. The EXACT same.
:jerk:

There wouldn't be any national outrage about this game if Coach Self wouldn't have gotten behind a microphone and talked about chicken wings.

Nobody on the opposing team is going to say anything about little ku noobs running through them while they try and get off the football field.
Plus, when the worst major conference football team in the country wins a game . . . nobody cares.

KU won in Lawrence this year and is 49-5 in the last 54, but yeah, nice math skills, bruh. Like I've said, there's clearly a national conspiracy at play here and everyone is just out to get little ol' K-State. Maryland fans stormed the court last night vs. Wisconsin and somehow managed to avoid making a mockery of their entire university, but hey, it's probably just East coast bias that they're not the leading story on Outside the Lines this morning.

The hypocrisy is sad . . . at ku rushing the field is something to celebrate and condone. But butthurt ku nation won't tolerate it anywhere else.

Rushing the field and/or storming the court isn't the issue. Attacking players and getting violent with the opposing team is why you made national headlines. Why is this so difficult for you to understand?
-
Violent.
It's just pure butthurt about losing a game and seeing other fans have fun.
Meanwhile rushing the field, running amongst football players to destroy property and cost taxpayers money is something to be celebrated, photographed, videod and posted to YouTube. ku butthurt nation: hypocrisy lives here

Nice strawmen. We're eating up the media attention, and the critical mass of butthurt and threats of violence from ku t-shirt/one sport nation.
wut

Hey you guys....KU lost Monday night to a team they should have beaten. Some college kids were rowdy and exercised poor judgement.
HOW DARE THEY EMBARRASS OUR BELOVED JAYHAWKS.....LETS GET THEM!!!

Does that field goal post that ended up at the bottom of that scum pond cost more to replace than Traylor's knee surgery or nah?

1 dumbass K-State fan chicken-winging a KU player = all K-State fans are ISIS in Beem's mind.
1 dumbass K-State fan chicken-winging a KU player = court storming should be banned in Beem's and all other KU fan's mind even though injuries rarely (if ever) happen at a collegiate level when fans storm a court

Now, 'Pad, these are what you call "strawmen arguments."
Point 1: No, K-State fans are not ISIS because one guy chicken-winged a KU player. They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases because they are a trashy group of haters that rally around a unified hatred of all things KU (in ISIS' case, it's Christianity and non-Sunni Muslims).
Point 2: court stormings are fine, just don't pin coaches up against press tables and get violent with multiple players of the opposing team. See: Maryland last night vs. Wisconsin if you need a good example of how to do it the right way.
-

Well, you guys did get violent with KU's players and coaches after the game and chanted "eff KU" throughout the entire night, which is something I can't say for any other Big 12 fanbase. If the shoe fits...

It's like when in football, before you were the worst team ever, when you guys chanted "RIP HIS rough ridin' HEAD OFF" and were disappointed when it wasn't interpreted literally by your players. I was pretty scared to be in the student section one of those times. SCARY!
-
If you compare a fanbase to ISIS you are a frustrated 5 year old that can't deal with your emotions. You do not have the emotional control to be able to watch sports and should stop immediately.
In all honesty, that statement is more offensive than anything that happened on the court Monday night.
-
Can we put Beems in timeout or something to deal with him like the 5 year old he is?

The chant does suck. I hate hearing it. It would be way better if at the end of our annual KU ass kickings the crowd just did a long soft EEEEMAAAW AAACKBAAAR KAAAY STAAAATE WOOOO!

I'm not in the business of catering to your personal sensitivities. If you don't like the metaphor, too bad. Don't get violent with KU players/coaches and chant hate-filled obscenities if you want to be seen in a more positive light.

If you compare a fanbase to ISIS you are a frustrated 5 year old that can't deal with your emotions. You do not have the emotional control to be able to watch sports and should stop immediately.
In all honesty, that statement is more offensive than anything that happened on the court Monday night.
This is coming from the same fanbase that celebrated when T-Rob's mom died. I could give a eff if you're offended by the comparison. Name another fanbase in the Big 12 that chants "eff KU" the entire game and became a national embarrassment after bum-rushing KU's coaches and players. Go ahead.
-
I think the next person to try to argue with beemz is gonna get threatened with violence. He is like ISIS after all, and they are quick to it

I chanted until my voice was all hoarse and then I drank about a dozen beers. Then I offered my KU neighbor a beer and chicken winged him when he was swallowing. LMFAO he started puking right in the street. Then I went back home and cheered on the replays of the court storm on ESPN.
-
So now the series is up to a highly competitive 49-5 in the last 54 matchups. 75-9 since Ted Owens was fired. K-State is quickly closing the gap!
:ohno:
You know, there are quite a few KU fans, mostly because they go to Walmart and buy a shirt, maybe two. It's honestly disappointing because this the only argument ku, "fans," are able to state. It's a very poor one at that. Quit beating a dead horse.

You left out the time the students chanted "Deadbeat Daddy" at the paid athlete who failed to pay child support and I'm sure there were some very hurtful things said to Sherron after he molested that girl in the elevator as long as we're keeping score.

That was in direct response to the guy "chicken-winging" Jamari Traylor and making national headlines. I'm just message boarding here for God's sake. Slight difference.

"Don't get violent with KU players/coaches and chant hate-filled obscenities if you want to be seen in a more positive light."

I said you're the "ISIS of Big 12 fanbases" because you guys unify around a collective hatred of all things KU and made national headlines by getting violent with KU's players and coaches on Monday. No other Big 12 fanbase goes to those extremes.

I'm not 100% certain the collective plan of K-State fans was to violently attack Bill Self and pin him up against a table. Perhaps it was just an unfortunate thing that happened and next time the security will create a better barrier. I dunno, either that or ISIS

Look at the apathy with which KU's players stood around, obviously inviting controversy instead of thinking of the safety of themselves and their teammates. It's honestly shameful that they would be so flippant about something as important as safety.

I don't think you know what the word "hypocrisy" means. If you want to see true hypocrisy, take a look at the fanbase that got incredibly butthurt after Jim Mora gave Snyder a quick handshake and had the audacity to criticize him for calling a chickensh!t timeout and having his players bum-rush the UCLA o-line one last time before the end of the game.

Yeah, I'm insane because I've called out a bunch of idiots who are supporting violence against KU's players and coaches. Recent basketball success? You are 5-49 vs. KU in the last 54 games and have only won a total of 4 times on your own homecourt.
-
I havent found the best place to mention it yet, but I went to a game of soccer in Florence Italy between Florence and Sienna. The entire time the whole crowd, including children, chanted, "Sienna, Sienna, Vafanculo!" over and over. That translates to, "Sienna Sienna eff you!" It didn't bother anyone there.

They're not even close to the same. K-State's behavior was way worse than Jim Mora's. And my mental health is just fine, thanks. I'll continue to call out your cult-like fanbase for being a bunch of losers. If you want to see mental health problems, review the tape from Monday night's KU/KSU game.

We've had as much or more recent (do you understand that this word is relative?) success against KU as anyone in the conference. Yes, it's driving you crazy. You've acted objectively like a lunatic for the past two days. If I knew you, then I'd be legitimately concerned for your wellbeing. There was no violence against anyone from KU on Monday night. A kid thought it would be funny to bump into Jamari Traylor, to rub in the fact that he just lost to a terrible K-State team. If you wanted to commit a violent act, bumping into someone wouldn't be the method you would use. You know that.

I'm a fairly objective K-State fan. I know that the fans of our institution are no better or worse human beings than fans of any other institution. The incident that has you so fired up wasn't a violent act though. You can choose to play the victim if you want to, but that just marginalizes all the real victims in the world. I doubt if Jamari Traylor feels like he was attacked, and I doubt if Bill Self feels like he was attacked (although I'm sure he wishes security could have given him a few more seconds to get off the court).

They are doing a lot of work to go against this rape culture - - I think - - I doubt it really. I remember doing the alcoholEDU course when I was a freshman (thanks for that incident, KU) and now another program will be made simply because KU culture is so sketchy.

We never fight, my friend. I think this thread has run its course, though. What's sad is that not one of you cult-following ass clowns can even admit that K-State and its fanbase made a fool of itself on Monday night. You're all acting like K-State is the victim in all of this and that the national media is just out to get poor, lil' ol' K-State. It's truly astonishing.
this is the most rough ridin' ignorant part of all this.
well yeah that and being mentioned to the likes of the most heinous radical group of our lifetimes. NBD guys

Beems was doing so well there for a while. One loss to the farmhumpr's and he's back off the wagon.
-
I got threatened by that ku guy who's knee blew up. Said he would shoot me. Probs self defense though.
-
if there's anything I learned in the last 2 days, it's that nothing is more important or should be taken more seriously than college basketball.

Not gonna happen

How did no one use the headline "Traylor Trashed"?
-
Can one of the mods please copy all of Beem's posts from the past 60 hours and put them in one thread (in order) and then lock that thread? I'd just like to see all of the hypocrisy that would be dripping out of that thread.
Gonna win 'em all!
:Crybaby:
Kansas State Bum Rush University

did anyone on this board give one eff about the Mora/Snyder deal? I know I didn't.

I liked watching the GPC reaction over it.

He'll be back. He always comes back.

Also, not sure you know what slump buster means.
#TheWesIsTheFuture
I was thinking the same thing.
Gonna win 'em all!

I DNR this thread, but just wanted to break in with this quote from Smock:
"Hey, guys. I'm hearing rumors that K-State lost Frank Martin to South Carolina (yes, the worst basketball program in the SEC - South Carolina) and hired oscar Weber (yes, that loser with the squeaky voice who ran Illinois' program into the ground). Waiting for sources to confirm. Stay tuned!" April 27th, 2012.
Could this be the real cause of his buthurt; getting the beatdown from our loser coach.
-
They only sport they can compete with us in is men's bball. Every other sport is straight beatdown.

Go ahead.
You left out the time the students chanted "Deadbeat Daddy" at the paid athlete who failed to pay child support and I'm sure there were some very hurtful things said to Sherron after he molested that girl in the elevator as long as we're keeping score.

Another one. :frown:

LOL @ 65+ slump busters
-
Hadnt really thought about this until now, but this rivalry is so one-sided right now, I'm starting to better understand why people were surprised we court stormed. We compete with ku in athletics about 15 times a year, and usually win 12-15 of those contests. It was probably viewed as rubbing our dominance in, particularly since it was their holy sport we beat them in. I can see why an already jealous fan base was so irrationally enraged over a meaningless game.

"For Aaron the mystery began there. What in his genes might explain his love of all things British (Diana Rigg and The Avengers, Angela Lansbury, the magical sound of a British accent)?" :surprised:

Beems had us figured out all along!!! :Wha:
K-State renames computer network from iSIS to KSIS (http://www.kansascity.com/news/state/kansas/article12803834.html)
Seems a little late to be hiding our true colors now...
