Did them, but only kids are in the picture.

2 rules for Christmas Cards:
1.  No "All 5 of us wear matching denim shirts" pictures
2. No "Cat dressed as Santa" Pictures

Do those and you'll be fine.

definitely match your criteria.

did you do the "year in review" type thing that some people do? where you write about what you've been up to for the last year and expect people to really care/read it? wife insisted we do this, seems very dumb/vain to me...

We don't, but wives like that sort of stuff, Mrs. CF3 loves reading the little updates people send.

We do Christmas cards sometimes. It seems like I usually get the "year in review" letters from people I can't stand.

Did not do them for two primary reasons.

1.  Way too much work to gather addresses
2.  I am not in sales

I'll sit for the picture with the condition it takes less than 10 minutes.  Id laugh right in my wife's fat face if she ever asked me to have any larger role than that.

The worst is the checklist/grid card with achievements down the side, names across the top, and check marks in the boxes.  I usually try to read the letters, but those checklists go straight in the trash.

Note: If you have kids I'll read your letter until I get to the part about the kids individually.  At that point it goes in the trash.  I really don't care about your kid's school play.

I've never gotten one of those. What kind of achievements to people put on there?

Went on Caribbean cruise: Everyone gets a checkmark
Celebrated 21st wedding anniversary: Mom and Dad
Had lead in school play: 17-year-old son
Spends too much time on Facebook: 15-year-old daughter
Played little league: 10-year-old son
Learned how to swim: 4-year-old daughter
Learned how to poop outside: puppy

I've gotten these periodically from 3 different families and they usually go on for a full page.

That's awful. It would be kind of neat if a family actually set goals on January 1st and used the Christmas card to praise the members who achieved those goals and shame the members who didn't.

Any family who sends out a card to numerous people talking about themselves is extremely self absorbed.

Every year for as far back as I can remember growing up we had a distant relative who would send photos, card, and three pages about what went on that past year, what the coming year may hold, etc...  I vividly remember my mom reading them aloud to all of us every year and her and my dad laughing, mocking, and making fun of the senders throughout the letter. It usually took an hour to get through due to all the laughter and commentary.  I wish someone sent me some so I could do the same. The checklist sounds amazing. I'm going to start doing it next year.

Wasn't arrested. x

Banged a girl out of his league. x

Threw up in someone else's kitchen sink. x

Etc....

have you given any thought to the fact that you could probably use that golden bowling pin trophy to lure some young kid over and then molest him/her or something? cause i'm pretty sure that would be a normal thought to have and then to pontificate about out loud.  :dunno:

The 2011 KSU football Cats were the surprise team of the nation, rattling off a 10-2 record and earning a spot in the Cotton Bowl, all while having no reports of child rape by players OR coaches.  And you know, it really would've been easy to have raped some children this year.  I bet they'd just have to invite some kids from a local Manhattan elementary to tour the football facilities, and then trap them somewhere not so visible, and rape them.  So good job Cats on the 10 victories and the great season and the lack of rape.

In other news, our hoops adorablecats have posted a fine out-of-conference record thus far, despite a rocky first couple of games.  Frank and the boys even took home the Diamond Head Classic championship.  Speaking of head, I imagine it would be possible to get head from some innocent children by luring them into a private area with an offer to play with some of those giant oars Hot Rod and Jamar won for being on the all-tourney team.  I mean, maybe.  The Cats take on Howard this Saturday at 1.

In the land of goEMAW, I'm sure all noticed the festive update given to the banner at the top of the web page.  In addition to helping spread the festive mood, I suppose there's a chance it will make the site more inviting to little kids, and if one was so inclined, they could probably develop a relationship with said children who join the board.  Probably.  Let's just hope the holiday spirit doesn't prevent OK_Cat from continuing to make fun of dead people, which he continued to excel at throughout 2011.

as much as i'd love to brag on myself, it wasn't a great bbs year for ok_cat.  i mean, austin box and twitter interactions with his sister and ou fans helped quite a bit, but the rest of the year was "meh."  the thread about the arkansas player nearly ruined the pigaggie infestation, and i really can't think of any thread or post this year that was worthwhile.

without austin box being a complete loser, i'm no different than 3/4 of the shitty posters on this board.   :frown:

we had like a normal photo that our photographer swapped our faces around on as a joke. Little did he know my wife was going to use those as our actual christmas cards. Needless to say it wasn't a hit with the grandparents.
