Missouri's 2012 SEC schedule is out. They have several non-con games to finalize, but they'll be rummies.
Below is my guess on their record with next year's schedule:
Winnable non-con game - W
Winnable non-con game - W
Winnable non-con game - W
Georgia - L (toss up, Mizzou could win this)
Arizona State - W (new coach at ASU)
at South Carolina - L
Vanderbilt - W
Alabama - L
Kentucky - W
at Florida - L (close one, but Swamp is tough)
at Tennessee - W (train wreck of a program right now)
at Texas A&M - W (new coach at aTm)
Now, if they had stayed in the Big 12, they'd have the following schedule (swapping TCU for aTm)
Winnable Non-con game - W
Winnable Non-con game - W
Arizona State - W
at Oklahoma - L
Kansas State - L (close but we return so much, that I give it to Snyder and a Senior QB)
at Iowa State - W
at OK State - W (OSU has more talent, even without Weeden. Too tough on the road).
TCU - L (toss up, but TCU returns their QB, and he's better than Franklin).
Baylor - W (if RG3 comes back this is a loss).
at Texas - L
at Texas Tech - W
Kansas - W
I see them with 8-9 wins in the SEC, and 7-8 in the Big 12.
-
@ISU wouldn't have been a cake walk either. More difficult than Vandy or Kentucky, and arguably more difficult than At Tennessee.

That's a 4-4 SEC record. Not exactly ripping it up, especially since they're in the east. Also, Mizzou will lose either Vandy or Tennessee, they won't win both.

Odds Pinkel finishes as SEC COY? I say pretty good once they tear through their div in their first year. Follow up Q: will the SEC force them out if MU wins right off the bat? Follow Follow up Q: would we take them back even though we already know that they just don't add much value to our conf?

Changed my mind . . . and it's good to see MethU in a conference where they might win something . . . for a change.
-
It's really not debatable that they brought nothing to our conference. The networks are still going to pay the same amount for Big 12 games.
I just find it really strange that a middle of the road program in the Big 12 can move to the SEC and not miss a beat...simply jump right into being a top half team in the SEC. Top to bottom, the SEC isn't really that great....just a few really good teams and a bunch of losers.

And it's even worse in all other sports.

it just shows how top heavy the sec is, aggy is going to get absolutely raped next year while mizzou will flourish. It should end all discussions of who the better conference is, having 2 solid teams in one conference doesnt make you the best
-
Jesus, the SEC is just garbage after you get past three teams. Wow.

decent fix, but what if mizzou makes the sec championship game next year(which can happen) the talking points could swing either way
it would be fan rough ridin' tastic if mu did just that, a little known middle of the road team that leaves the big 12 goes straight to a power in the sec? hell espn couldnt even spin that one

While Im no SEC worshipper as some are. You guys are delusional. Purposely so it would seem.
Its not even in question which has been the best college football conference for a while now. It will not last forever. Give the SEC their due; they have dominated college football as of late.
Its being silly to deny how good they have been. If you want the big teams in the Big 12 to get their respect then they have to stop choking and losing to nobody teams when it counts. The championship teams in the SEC win, when they should.
And you might as well prepare yourselves because the SEC will be in the NC game again next year as they show no signs of diminishing yet. Thats just being realistic.
But by all means dont let reason or logic stop you from your delusions.
-
that doesnt take into account how much we beat each other up eklektos. its easier to make the ncg if your conference is only two or three good teams

No one disputes that in a given year, the SEC will have a dominant team or two. You also have LOADS of garbage...Kentucky, Vandy, the Mississippi's, Tennessee...those teams are crap right now. UT will come back in time, but the others a dog crap. Just plain dog crap.
-
I mean just look at that East division. Right now, that's worse that the old Big 12 North. Woof.

You can make the claim at any given time that any conference has "garbage teams". Im not sure what that proves. Although many would say that the SEC teams that have less than stellar records have them because they play in the SEC and that any where else they would be far above where they are. And there is some merit to that argument. Imagine if K-State had to play LSU, Bama, Arky, Auburn, etc.... every year week in and week out. Thats a grinding schedule right now no matter who you are.

what if bama/lsu/arky had to play osu ksu ou texas ect ect week in and week out
-
Auburn had to have an onside kick to beat Utah St.(?). Arkansas had to have a miracle comeback to beat A&M.
After LSU/Bama it's a dramatic drop off this year.

I would give you points for that argument except look who OU lost to, look who OSU lost to, and Texas lol yeah not much there as of late. Those bunk losses are the separating factor between making the Big 12 greats look on the same level as the SEC greats.

pretty sure that just shows more parity in the league, instead of just having 2 great teams.

Close games when they shouldn't be close is college football and proves nothing. Good teams win when they are down. The Arky A&M game is a classic example of a team stepping up in the second half and playing to their talent level. Tyler Wilson threw for over 500 yards in that game for crying out loud. Thats not a miracle thats taking care of business. He is a first year starting QB and deserves much respect for that showing.

I agree that score comparisons isn't very useful. However, I don't believe that Auburn was substantially better at football than Utah State. Nor do I think that Arkansas is substantially better than aTm.
These sorts of comparisons aren't perfect, let's do it this way:
LSU > all big 12 teams
Bama > all big 12 teams
Rest of SEC < OU, OSU
Arkansas = KSU, UT, TCU, WVU
South Carolina = KSU, UT, TCU, WVU
Georgia = KSU, UT, TCU, WVU
Florida < KSU, UT, TCU, WVU
Mizzou and aTm < KSU, OU, OSU, UT, TCU, WVU
Vandy, Tenn, Kentucky, Auburn, Ole Miss, Miss State, < all big 12 teams except KU, and maybe Tech
Again, if both conference throw out their top two teams, you cannot make the argument that one is really much better than the other. If anything, the Big 12 has fewer crap teams.
-
Oh, and I completely forgot about the Heisman trophy winners team...

You also have to consider that the new SEC has 14 teams with a cross division rival, so a team like Missouri will play their cross-division rival (A&M), plus the other 6 crap teams in the east. They will have a home and home with a western division team, then not see them again for 10 years or so. In the Big 12, we play everyone.

No, denied.
That was just classic bonfire aggy melting down and not giving a eff in the 2nd half, something they did pretty much every game this year. Every team did that to them dumbass.

crap me too baylor=/=arky

Holy hell, look at the teams that Mississippi beat. Every single one of them are cup cakes. OK, they beat the WAC's best team, but it was a home game. :jerk:

they only gave up 24 to the one of the best teams in the country and only lost by 2 against souf cack. you have to remember to speak in sec talk when talking wins and close losses

KSU would screw Mississippi State's brains out and make Mississippi watch.
