Great turn out for #TSC in the two games this year. KState had 15,800 in attendance for their win over Alabama while #TSC friend KU had just under 15,300 for their game v. Davison (Davidson?). 31,100 total for the two games. Great work Kansas City area sports fans!

Squawk fans don't want to play there anymore, it's just not fair to them

I'm sick of this game. Yes, it's cool for KU players to play in a NBA-like arena (even though KC has no team)
But this happens way too much IMO. KU plays this game after finals, in an semi-unfamilar place, and we just come out lethargic and perform poorly. Plus Sprint Center just seems to not be our place. We don't have students really there, yes there are like 1,800 more tickets to me sold, but honestly I don't feel like anyone really cares in KC, at least not anywhere close like in AFH.
If we want to play in a semi-home game, lets just play at home, where it's fun and people care.
It was supposed to be for KC fans that didn't want to come to Lawrence. Well, there are 20+ games in Lawrence a year. If someone doesn't want to drive 41 miles, than [censored] em.
If we want to play in NBA arenas for our kids, lets let them play someone meaningful somewhere meaningful like the MSG or like arenas (Staples Center would be awesome).
Anyway, stop this stupid "Whomever has money this year Shootout" crap and lets start something better.
-
luckly k-state played on saturday.
if we had to play on a monday night against a sub par opponent like davidsan with last night's weather we wouldn't have filled the bottom bowl. 7,000 max would have been the attendance.

Doesn't 83% of KU's undergrad population hail from JoCo, and weren't they all "home" for Christmas break? :jerk:

Fantastic TSC'ing.

well i guess it's a good thing that we scheduled a better opponent on a better night then.

It's also a good thing we won, too.

Sales vs attendance is a really tough discussion.

That's like when KU lists every game at Allen Field House at 16,300 attendance. Are you telling me that exactly that many people attended every game for the past 10 years?
-
My theory is that we play in such crazy environments at home in AFH, and on the road. So when we play in a big arena like the Sprint Center even though it is mostly KU fans it is not as loud and the crowd is not as into it from the start.
When the game starts the atmosphere is lethargic compared to what our players are used to and our players do not come out the way they need to, like last night, last year in the Big 12 tourney vs. Oklahoma St, etc.
I also feel this is why you see KU and other teams get upset in neutral site tournament games.
-
wow. great pull by SD. just wow.
-
Yeah I'll be back to make fun of you clowns when KU trashes your garbage team by 20+ in a couple of weeks. Good luck on another 4th place finish this year in the Big 12, grapes. Who knows... maybe someday you'll actually win a Big 12 title for once, or hell, maybe even get your first Final Four since the '60's. I doubt it, though.

Davidson hurt really, really bad, huh ben?

That is so unfair. I don't understand why they didn't build the Sprint Center in Lawrence. How dare they be forced to play in a large, mausoleum-like arena.

I know many of you are sincere TSC'ers. Not me. So Beem's little fits are a pure Schadenfreude rush.
Thanks Beems. It means a lot.
-
I think attendance at the K-State - 'Bama game was close to 17,000. Beems quoted the capacity number for Sprint, and I guarantee that ku did not fill that arena. I'm sure someone associated with ku quoted that figure, but the sub-par critical thinking skills among the ku fan base failed to measure that for reasonableness. It's not reasonable.
-
That's the 18,757 was the attendance fig on espn.com
-
kid has been engaged in like a month long meltdown, I don't think I've ever seen anything like it.
He stared into the abyss during conference realignment, saw our Cotton Bowl season compared to their Gill meltdown, and then realized they have a pretty marginal basketball team this year.
He's going to need time to deal with this.
T&P, Beems.
-
Pretty sure Jason King mentioned our game had roughly 16,500, and since he's the most biased reporter of all time, he wouldn't exaggerate on attendance vs. sales.
-
The Weis thread can't pull him back in, but stevedave posting attendance numbers does?
T&P bro, T&P...

I think if the Cats can finish fourth and KU rights the sinking ship and can finish anywhere between 2nd and 5th then that would show the rest of the coutnry that the Kansas teams are legit! :tsc:

don't wish his team well this year.

Kellis calls SD a fat liar, lays down beautiful prose.
Here is how it happened: Samuels got it started with two free throws and a three from the corner, Rodriguez and Southwell kept it going by making a few driving layups and the 16,685 in attendance began to sense victory when Spradling sank a three to put K-State ahead by 12 with less than 10 minutes remaining.
-

I was all TSC until I got on here and had to read O-Hawk's posts. I still try from time to time, but when I've come into contact with so many douche KU fans, it is hard for me. I loved TSC, even cheered for KU in their O-Bowl, but then I started meeting more and more KU fans....and well, it's hard for me. really REALLY hard.
-
I love watching them lose but hate watching them lower our RPI and SOS. #TSC

Now that Mizzou is gone, they're trying to bait the cats into a rivalry. I think they feel kind of "left out".

Yep, would TSC all the way to a 4th place finish.
Lot of upset folks over on phog about this attendance talk . . . not much TSC'ing going on there.
Sad.

And? That is the ku mantra. I think it is even a verse in the fight song.
-
Oh, yes, we are aware of that. Just found the timing fitting to emphasize how he only reinforced that mantra.
