...set to discuss raising KU's admissions standards.  Personally, I'm all for it.  I'd love to see KU separate itself from the rest of the schools in the state.  It's also an important step in retaining our membership in the AAU.

Thoughts?

In other recent Regents news, they approved a $40 million dollar expansion of the K-State Engineering Complex, and they've been asked to amend the FY 2013 Capital Projects list to add a $14 million dollar addition to Cardwell which will be the new home of the Laser Labs, and several other Physics labs.

In other news, Kansas State University has just retained its flagship institution in the state of Kansas status.

Given our laser prowess, how do we replace the Pew Pew of Southwell's pistols with some Laser sounds and emulation?

I don't know much about it but would that ever even happen? I thought the admissions requirements pretty much had to be the same for all state universities in Kansas. :dunno:

FYI . . . UPKS has hinted around since he began his tenure about raising the standards at K-State as well.

As of right now the campus is bursting at the seams with more students on campus than ever, and even a moderate up tick in standards wouldn't prevent the vast majority of applicants from being accepted.

I think our standards are fine just the way they are. :dunno:
