Looked and sounded like one of the holiday Hawaii tourney crowds on TV

I was born in and raised in florida, but the Air Force brought me west. I am a Kstate grad and Kstate basketball season ticket holder, but North Florida is still my first love.
I have been to numerous football games at North Florida Football games and I can honestly say the the OOD experience is equal. In fact, this past year, North Florida tried to do a pre-game video similar to the one they show at the OOD. It is no where near as good as the one at Kstate.
I have talked up the OOD to all my North Florida friends back home and they are eventually going to visit.
As far as the fans go, Kstate fans are great.

I feel so validated now.

I don't know if anyone saw it on twitter, but a UNF columnist tweeted saying that the OOD was the loudest venue he had ever been too, and it wasn't even close.
-
My brother in law is from Florida, graduated UNF. He and my sister were at the game, first time in the OOD. he said the atmosphere was awesome, and the loudest he had ever been in.
-
I wore my North Florida gear, but I found myself cheering for the wild wildcats. It was kinda weird.
-
I had a buddy in from Orlando that said it was the greatest college basketball experience of his life.
-
I used to live in Orlando. I went to 1 North Florida game while I was there. (It was when they played Kstate.)
Nothing compares to the OOD.
-
i was chatting with this dude from unf at the game. he told me it was the best day of his life. i was like, "yeah sure, buddy." but you know what he did next? he pulled out his phone, called his boss, and quit his job. then, he pulled out his plane ticket and ripped it up. "i'm stayin'!" is what he said.

It's amazing what can be accomplished when 1000 fans decide to join together and GET LOUD. :excited:
-
You hear stories about their arena but until I experienced it I didn't buy in. After being there all I can say is WOW! By far the greatest sporting experience any fan can have. Everyone should put attenidng a game there on their bucket list.
-
Former North Florida walk-on/cult hero Mark Titus, who now writes for Grantland, was at the game and tweeted this:
clubtrillion Mark Titus
Just not the same team w/o #0. Still worth trip. If you haven't already, you must see a game in the OOD. Best bball atmosphere I've ever seen!
-
An North Florida beat writer tweeted these:
@KyleRowland Kyle Rowland
I can't even hear myself think in this place. LOUD.
@KyleRowland Kyle Rowland
The noise level is out of this world. Can't even begin to describe. Loudest venue I've ever been, and it isn't even close.

I understand the UNF coach thanked Frank to the point of embarrassment for allowing his program to play in such a storied venue. That's what the long handshake at the end of the game was for, the UNF staff and players were just in awe.

oh thanks for clarifying. i noticed that on television but i wasn't able to discern what was said between the two. i'm sure it's something the UNF coach will never forget, and he seemed to take the beating really well, almost like he was just honored to have played there.

Any one else sick of the WHEW!!!! at the end of the KSU chant? Makes me wanna punch those morons.
-
My brother in law went to the game with me, he is a Duke alum. I asked him if the OoD compared to Cameron Indoor and he just smiled and looked at his feet, it was obvious he was embarassed.

The slow part of the chant isn't being done properly, either before the game or at the end.
Apart from the moronic "woo-woo's" between phrases, they've chopped off a syllable. Properly sung, it's "Dooooooom, Dooom on YOU-OO," not "Doooom, Dooom on you."

-
Watching Turg take on FIU. We've got some work to do to catch up to their level. Both on the court and in the support from the fans.
-
Anyone else hearing the rumblings about the mandatory earplug stuff? Guess the school is worried about litigation stemming from hearing loss? lol at them being worried about that after a UNF game! Imagine how those poor ass squawk fans are gonna be putting ketchup in their ears and begging for free sodas now!
