Anyone have wives obsessed with this? I joined to keep ideas for landscaping and garage organization. Mrs. Kilt uses it for decorating ideas. Thoughts? How quick will this website fade away?
I have a lot of people re-pin my stuff. Makes me feel like I have good taste.

Mrs. Stevesie60 loves it. She always tries to show me things on there and say "this would be fun to do" or "I think I'll try this next week". I always nod my head knowing full well that she has no intentions of following through with any of them. It's pretty cute.

Mrs. Kilt does the same thing, except she's been doing a decent job following through. We went and bought an old antique dresser I got stuck spending weeks sanding and refinishing. Looks awesome but could have spent my time doing something less productive.

yes, it is where she pins whatever funny new internet meme of the day is or whatever friends she's following that are women who are not gay but have pinned many many images of mostly nude female types, and Jake Gyllenhaal looking into the distance, and shoes, and food.

You have no idea how good it makes me feel that I'm not alone in this.

I'm not sure we are in any position to comment on our wives/significant others spending time on (somewhat) strange social sites on the Internet.

same here. she does the same thing with church too. every once in a while it's "hey, i'd really like to start going to church every week. as a family you know?" i'm then like "oh yeah, no problem. sounds great" because i know we won't do it. so cute.
-
yes. YES. She comes home and is all "omg! I have 3 new followers today!"
I have shot down multiple house projects she has learned about on that website.

wife just discovered it 3 weeks ago. She kept asking me to show her how it worked and I was all: "eff, I don't know." Then she figured it out and its ALL. SHE. rough ridin'. DOES. I get pissed sometimes when I get home & the dishes aren't done & dinner isn't being cooked, but then I remember how much time I spend on here at times. :ohwell:

pintrest is definitely a problem in the ok_cat household. if i have to see the same oreo cheesecake recipe one more time, i'll probably cancel our internet.

Sounds fantastic though. Hopefully she stops showing you pictures and decides to make it one of these days.

I use it as a web clipboard, but don't give a rip about the social aspects. I get notifications about new followers and repins and I'm just like :blank: .
-
i use it to get new sewing patterns or trendy knitting ideas but other than that i'm just like, WHATEVER!

I make Mrs. SF look at Asava's Gif thread every once in a while. :dunno:

I came home Sat to my wife mixing house hold chemicals, at what appeared to be random, to create some solution to clean the hard water off the shower door. When I asked what/why she was doing it, she said it was something someone posted on pinterest. I asked her why that mixture worked better than shower cleaner. She said that the blogger she found it from didn't know and neither did the blogger that the other blogger found it from.
Pretty exciting to know that there is a whole group of homemakers out there randomly mixing under-sink chems and putting them in the microwave to see what they do.

I did this once in the backroom of "Batteries Plus" when I worked there, would not recommend.

Yeah, she just needs to use plain white vinegar. If the smell is too strong, cut it with some water. Put it in a spray bottle and use like windex.

Very good for recipes. Since Mrs. KSUBrian got on pinterest, variety home cooked meals went through the roof. Also a lot less grief my way about time spent on the worthless "chat" boards. Maybe she will see a pinned article someday the explains the difference between chat rooms and message boards.

Just got my e-mail inviting me to join Pinterest.
Guys, i'm in.
Here are some basic ground rules they've given me:
• Pinterest Etiquette: Try to...
• Be Nice!
• Be Creative. The best pinboards mix products, art, recipes and images from all across the web. Try not to pin everything from a single source.
• Give Credit. If you blog about an item you found on Pinterest, it's nice to credit your fellow pinners by linking back to the original pin.
