Are Free.
Make them.
-
Do they let you stand closer if you leave out the "h"?
-
2 of 6 in the last 5 minutes. 2 of 4 on the last minute of regulation. Those were the worst ones.
-
meh
-
 Not this crap again.
-
Love the retards who are all, "Free throws don't matter!" I mean......wut?

i'm just not going to A) zero in on free throws as the problem, and B) forget that going 2-6 to close out a game is probably the most JYC-y stat line anyone could wish for.

Samuels - 0-2
Gipson - 7-8
Irving - 2-5
McGruder - 0-2 :curse:
Spradling - 0-0 :frown:
Besides Gipson, that is just pathetic. No excuse for the combined free throw line of Samuels, McGruder and Spradling to be 0-4. It should be more like 11-15 with that group. I know WV missed just as many free throws so it didn't technically lose us this game, but if free throw shooting doesn't get better, it will cost us games down the road.

Sprads is never going to have very many FTA except late in close wins. At least not with the way he plays offense now.

9-17 from that group. You'd expect 11 to 12 makes given the way Frank's teams have typically shot FTs.
-
Gipson was clutch, having guards consistently miss is pretty much unforgivable, IMO. FTs matter if points matter.
-
why do you idiots do this every year?
frank's teams suck at ft's. not going to change. big deal.

how is our ft rate this year compared to last?

Oh man, remember how annoying it was last year listening to all the retards bemoan the FT% for the whole first half of the season? :goodbyecruelworld:
-
I'm okay with big guys missing free throws. It's kind of cute, endearing.
But I will never understand how any guard shoots free throws at less than 70%.
-
You'd expect that when we have a big man like Gibson who can make them with ease, that this would be a strong point on our team. Yet here we are...........again.
-
I got excited when angel swooshed his first two. love how all of gip's rattle around but usually go down.

The only guy I really care about. With his skillset, McOrebs should be getting to the line all the freaking time, and hitting at a much better than 53% clip (though not sure I can say that based on his shooting from the floor this year).

Unless he had some sort of weird special connection with Pullen, the numbers have to come up at some point. Granted, McGruds has never been a high FT rate guy (26.9, 23.3 his first 2 years respectively), but he shot much better from the FT line (72%, 71%) and from 3 (42%, 41%) than he is so far this season. I agree with Frank that I'm not (overall) too concerned about him, but it sure would've been nice to have a couple more of those 3s and those missed FTs last night.

I agree the % will rise, but shouldn't he get to the line way more? That baseline drive-n-dunk was incredible. He has great body control in the lane, and just doesn't seem to want to get there very often. It pretty much has to be a dying shot clock before he'll slash.

Yes, Frank's teams historically suck at it. But they also have done well during in crunch time (largely because of Denis and Pullen). Worry about the second guard this year.

At the 3 minute mark today.
It's rough ridin' inexcusable, only a full blown 'tard would argue otherwise. The only thing more inexcusable is the complete inability to consistently make a shot inside of 4 feet. What the eff
