I know Villanova's down, but this is an ass kicking. They've already got a couple of good wins. Was Anderson that horrible of a coach or is Haith that good?
-
until tonight....
* I am caucasian
-
they have 7 talented seniors.
anderson is that bad.
they're active on all sides of the ball.
-
-
Was it because his name is Frank?
-
I've been impressed.
-
how freakin good would they be with Bowers? Scary.
-

Just assumed he was some sleazy white guy. Don't know why.
-
i have been too, but i think a disciplined team should be able to take them relatively easily. box out, don't let them get loose balls, limit the 2nd and 3rd and 4th shots per possession, work the ball into the blocks since as they're weak in the paint...maybe all easier said then done.
-
Haith sounds like insurance.
On a less funny note, they look terrifying.
-
When Denmon or English (don't remember) was on with BITB and talked about how Haith stressed "liitle things" like spacing on offense and help defense I had to wonder what the world was going on with Anderson.

confirmed for me that he's a crap coach.

That was Kim.

i heard that too but i honestly thought it was a jab at Anderson...maybe he was telling the truth :dunno:
-
Its likely Anderson focused so much on pressure defense, creating pace, and getting shots up that this was the case.
-
Oh crap. Don't sleep on Jay. Don't you dare.
-
Yeah. We have a ball game maybe.
-
Oh my. I did not realize Phil Pressey got down like that.
-
I've been impressed.
and surprised. there was nothing in haith's coaching resume to suggest this. he'd always had very good offensive teams, but they couldn't defend. i still kinda wonder if it is a perfect storm of him taking over players that were recruited by a better talent evaluator and still remember how to defend from what they were taught under the previous regime.

Yeah, I'm not sure what to think. They look really good to me.

it really still is the mike anderson defense, they're just playing a lot better on the offensive end and getting a lot of 2nd chances. defensively just active and running all over the place getting to loose balls.
-
Did Alden know what he was doing when he hired Haith? :ohno:
-
I'm flabbergasted.
All these guys looked like complete morons on the offensive end last year and know they honestly look more poised than KU on offense. I get that they have a bunch of seniors, but Phil Pressey looks good.
-
don't think they looked that bad last year on offense. they always had a high assist percentage didn't they?

Dunno. They average 16 a game this year, same last year.
-
They are doing a lot of things well, I have to admit I am anxious to see if they can keep it up or if teams will figure them out.
Offensively they are really good. eFG% for the year is 60% (before tonight) which is ridiculous. But most importantly they are rebounding; opponents OR% has gone from 36.2 to 28.3 so far this year. And (not surprisingly) they are sending opponents to the FT line A LOT less; 40.7% FTR last year to 25.2 this year.

Does it really matter? MU is gonzo anyway.

yeah, they scored very well last year too, if anything they were uncharacteristically poor defensively.
