Quit being an idiot. We need Lu.
-
Herpes has its place in the ecosystem, just lie Luis Colon.
-
Yep, as much as he is one of the worst basketball players I have seen get this much time, we do need him. :bawl:
-
Good point monument.
However why do we accept the fleeting moments of goodness from Lu, when he's essentially the basketball equiv of a drive killer??
Who did he bribe to only get "credited" for 2 turnovers according to the ESPN box??
-
Maybe after a few more years of watching Frank Martin teams you will understand why Lou is going to be important during the next two tournaments.
-
I am sad for Luis. I want buy him his nllellephant.
-
That's fine Chin.
I mean I understand that Frank loves him some Lew, the rest of the world doesn't understand why but he does.
So I'll have to accept the 3 complete Lu cluster_cks for every 1 thing he does right until the season is over.

Quit being a boner!
Thank god for graduatiion, Colon blow and Merriweather, get the f*** out of town now!
Awful bball players and even more awful people (mainly beacuse of how awful of bball players they are)
Two turds im ready to flush down the sh*tter!

It's cute how you pretend to like bball now.
and NO, its that's not what I was saying. If Lu is done for the year that will hurt our team. Its a dumb talking point.

Somebody needs to hold fatty.

to be fair, that last post was very difficult to write.
went back and forth.

I'll tell him I slept with his girlfriend. that might make him :curse:

lou sucks bad... god love him

Clearly, if Lu had played as well as Kelly/Samuels/JHR we wouldve won today. And all the sucking off of Judge for a fairly mediocre game just goes to show how meh he has been this year

so what you're saying is, you would rather have lou on the floor than wally. that is funny to me.

Wally takes himself off the floor most the times, and for the season Lu has much better averages. Lu just looks awkward so anybody not paying attention thinks hes a lot worse than he is. Don't get me wrong, he is certainly not a great center, but has been better than Wally in all of about 3 games.

lou has no awareness. how many times did he have the ball poked right out of his hands tonight, leading to easy fastbreak points for ku? i would just rather see someone who is competent enough to hold onto the goddamn ball.

The one that went through Judge's hands when Clemente had him for a fastbreak layup was pretty bad.

that was disappointing. but 1 eff up as opposed to 5 or 6 from lou. we looked/played so much better when he was not on the floor.

Herpes is bar in Topeka where I watch all of the games. And LuCo is the crowd-fav! Now STFU.

I'm not arguing though based on tonight, Wally was def better in both games v. uk. Just saying that hasn't been the case on the season as a whole

Lu has played better most the season, when he strictly plays defense he is a good body on the floor when other players are in foul trouble. For some reason the last few games when he thinks he's an offensive juggernaut... not so much. I don't understand the slack given to his mistakes when everyone else gets replaced. Wally was playing a better game and should have been subbed in for him much earlier.

Lou had a terrible first half, a decent 2nd half. The missed bunny was bad though. And b/c of JamSam/Kelly's foul trouble he had to play more than we needed. Keep in mind Lou played 8 minutes in Manhattan against KU and 18 last night, I'm thinking at least 8 of Lou's minutes came b/c of the circumstances of the game.
But we are going to lose to any good team if JamSam/Kelly/Sutton combine for 8 points and 8 boards.

yeah, but I kind of don't like to hear frank talk about going to the zone because of foul trouble when JHR is just sitting on the bench. And Frank can talk about players that practice getting PT, but, like, it's just coincidence that McGruder and Wally play against KU after not seeing the court in forever? I put out bench on Frank. It should be better and it's not. We'll see that next year too.
and when clemente started feeling it, instead of running sets for him or hell even for pullen who had 15 at half, we're still trying to get it inside to Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) Lu and our other bigs who were playing like retards. I mean, I put Jamar's 4th foul entirely on Lu because for some odd reason he's trying to do an up and under on cole instead of kicking it back out.

One of Frank's biggest Frankisms is his refusal to trust youth and his stubbornly trusting veterans no matter the holes in their game. I think when that pays off it isn't that noticable but when it bites him it is glaring. Just my imo/fwiw/lbbiq/etc.

JHR played 2 minutes in Manhattan. I don't know what it is, but clearly Frank didn't like the match-up of JHR against KU.
We ran Clemente and Pullen through screens constantly trying to get them open. KU's perimeter defense was the best we've seen all year last night. Our only hope was inside-out looks, but again Kelly's limited play and Jam-Sam not playing as well as normal took that away.
You're overreacting to the bench play. Our best frontcourt players playing poorly was the thing that hurt us most tonight.

I didn't really see a difference in the "looks" that clemente and pullen were getting in the first and second halfs. Maybe I was just seeing what I wanted to see, but especially in the 2nd half (after we scored 7 points to tie it up) I saw us make a concerted effort to get it into the post and run sets where pullen and clemente were standing on the wing trying to get it inside. I know weren't going to just run pullen and denis off screens for wide open looks, but they should have probably taken it upon themselves to take more shots from 3.
And I'm not talking about bench points or anything like that, I'm just talking about productive minutes. There is no reason JHR can't come in. None. And McGruder prolly needs to see the floor, especially when we're (a) playing zone and (b) can't buy a bucket. Dude comes in and gets 7,000 rebounds in like one play.
ku's very good. wasn't expecting to win or anything, but in looking at the game that's what I saw.

That's fair.
Some of the inside play came against the triangle and 2, which we attacked pretty well. And some was an effort to get it inside. KU doubles down a lot, so I think the plan was to take advantage of that.
I agree that we needed more shots from 3 by Denis and Jake, they were hard to come by though. I think a lot of it was just KU playing really good defensively.
McGruds played 21 minutes last night, probably hard for him to get much more than that. He gave some very good minutes.

My comment on McGruds is more about the other games than this one. He seems like, more often than not, he gives good minutes. But there's a reluctancy to give him those minutes (save for some of our biggest games in conference...ku, ut, @ku). Not sure I understand why he gets minutes in those games, but not in others as it's not like Dom doesn't get in foul trouble nearly every game or at least needs a rest.

yes. 12 combined attempts is unacceptable. double that number please.

i don't see why that tall, skinny shazbot! ever plays. props to martin for seeing the light.
