Title: thoughts on bananas?
Post by: pissclams on November 27, 2011, 01:06:48 PM
i love the taste but they are stringy and have a weird consistency.

on the flip side, they're loaded with potassium.

on the flip side to that, they get brown, flies, etc.

banana bread is gross.

Bananas are the one food you buy where you say "okay I'm going to buy you now, but I can't really even think about eating these for a couple of days."  Half the time I forget about them and they turn all mushy and brown.

It is gross. That's when it becomes more sugary and loses it's nutritional value. That's why brown bananas are great for banana bread. It's also why they're great for fatsos.

it's true.  a ripe banana is going to have some brown spots and quite possibly some fruit flys in close proximity to the banana holder.

fruit flies could possibly be nesting on said banana holder, inspect carefully.

Bananas are fantastic, and anyone who disagrees is probably too busy stuffing their fat faces with something unhealthy and fattening.

On an episode of Mr. Wizards World he showed this trick where you could cut a banana into slices while it was still inside the peel.  I tried it out on my cousin. End result:  Mind Blown.

i have been on a banana rampage lately.

major banana pro tip: open the banana from the "bottom" because it's way easier with your bare hands, and also the banana does not get the loose stringy things so much. you do have to remove the brown poop colored bottom chunk thing though, but that's better than having horrifying stringy banana strings dangling from your mouth

i have been on a banana rampage lately.

major banana pro tip: open the banana from the "bottom" because it's way easier with your bare hands, and also the banana does not get the loose stringy things so much. you do have to remove the brown poop colored bottom chunk thing though, but that's better than having horrifying stringy banana strings dangling from your mouth

Hey mocat you should checkout the Swolecats thread might help you with opening bananas and unscrewing the top to your toothpaste.

i always mush the top when i try to open the banana from the stem side. if you open from the bottom it is clean and no mush

opening a banana from the bottom also makes the perfect mario-cart style banana peel. great for pranks.

Wait do you like your bananas like almost a little green?

(One time I tried the bottom-open and mumped it up real bad.)

i like a limited amount of banana taste too but like a lot of things, a little goes a long way - especially when it comes to the banana.

as far as avocado, they taste like play doh. not saying that's a bad thing but... and why does everyone brag about having the best guacamole recipe?  so weird, the avocado folks are.  so very weird.

Not surprising in the slightest that limited 'lette 'clams (LLC) doesn't like avocados or guac.  I can guarantee you putting avocados or guac on that sonic burger would help the taste
