Title: Maryland ES
Post by: Belvis Noland on November 22, 2011, 09:30:07 AM
What do u hoopsmiths want to see tonight?  There's been a lot of talk about ugly basketball and entertainment.

Bottom line, assuming this game is disgustingly sloppy and ugly (pretty safe assumption), what do you guys need to see to feel good about tonight's game?  Offensively, Defensively, lineups, individual performances?

Personally, I want to see Jamar contribute.  Want to see a better transition game.  And I want our ball handlers (Spradling, A-Rod, Irving, etc) with a positive A/TO ratio.

Good games from Will, Rodney, JO, and Jamar. Those 4 have to consistently play well for this team to be good.

Good defense. Opponents eFG% <40%. At least a 20% differential in OR%. At least a 20% differential in FTR.

And with the students officially home for Spring Thanksgiving Break, this crowd should be horrible.

On the plus side, the lack of crowd noise will allow us to clearly hear Frank's sarcastically undress our players for playing typical November basketball.

Best case scenario Sprads dives for a ball on the sidelines catching Frank right in the throat with his pointy white elbow.  Frank collapses and dies minutes later from crushed neck and mutilated stuff inside said neck.  Currie hires someone who can rough ridin' recruit and plays ball that's fun to watch and stuff....maybe Coach K or Tom Izzo.

Good defense. Opponents eFG% <40%. At least a 20% differential in OR%. At least a 20% differential in FTR.

Overall I was pleased, the 1st half was a bit stagnant.

Total   Pace   PPP   eFG%   TO%   OR%   FTR
KSU   68   1.34   60.7%   13.1%   46.4%   37.7%
Opp   68   0.73   38.7%   24.8%   20.5%   35.8%

Only disappointing aspect was FT rate, but otherwise solid. MES is pretty bad though, but at least we beat them bad in the 2nd half.
