I was under the impression Gus loved the Cats, but I guess not. What was up with the bias?
I didn't really mind, I kind of like the whole "Us against the world" feeling, but I started wondering if there was some sort of reasoning behind it. Maybe they knew about the CTR rivalry and how badly the horns needed a win to keep it going?

For as good of a basketball announcer as Gus is, he should never, EVER announce football. He (and his partner) was bad all around.
-
he leans toward whichever team is down imo.

You'd think announcers would know that college football has no halo rule on punt returns. I did enjoy the part when Gus said something to the effect of "You're crazy, that was a catch!" when they were reviewing a K-State catch in the first half.

Yes, and this is why he is so good. Contrary to popular belief, he doesn't only call close games. Close games are just more memorable when he calls them because he is BITB at hyping the David vs. Goliath scenarios.

gus was fine, charles sucked
"charles...c'mon that's gotta be a catch!"

exactly. Gus loves us. That was the most bias he showed all night.

Wasn't really what he was saying, just how he was calling the game and his excitement whenever Texas did anything remotely positive. I agree that it may have just been Gus doing his underdog thing, while the rest of the crew and their true bias made it seem like he was part of it.

As soon as it was 17-3, Gus was 100% Texas bandwagon, and anybody who blames him is a dumbass.
-
KSU didn't do anything remotely positive after it was 17-3. Texas did. Bfd

Yeah. We didn't do a whole lot of positive before that either, honestly.
-
Gus seems bored as hell calling FB. There's not nearly enough action for him.
-
i hate all of the hype he gets. it's way too much. further, i think it's stupid in general to have feelings/reactions about a broadcaster. who cares, really? that said, i think gus is great. and he's great at football.

His partner was terrible.

yep, but i don't care enough to bitch about it.
-
What does an announcer say when outside of about 5 plays an entire offense is completely and utterly inept?
-
I want the torrent just to hear Gus and our four highlights.
-
Didn't help that Brewster's son played for UT and that he had coached with Mack.
-
Charles had me at Tebow
-
they mostly just gushed about snyder and kstate's toughness. i'm getting the feeling that this is good old kstate butthurt over an announcer calling a play by an opposing team in an excited manner.
-
Gus did a great job calling the game. The only problem I had was with the sideline reporter. That was complete and utter horseshit. He shouldn't be calling that game, ever. Not even if theres a fire.

yep. nothing like good old kstate butthurt. this is like a dod season in a lot of ways.

Agreed. His honey-badger reference made me , but after that with the d's dominating the game the only story-line gus had to cling to was the thought of Little McCoy coming off the bench to be a UT savior. Can't blame the guy for trying to Gus-up a very non-Gus game
-
Somebody needs to inform Gus that the kids in Manhattan call Klein The Chamber.
-
Gus loves a comeback. Everyone knows this(except ksu fans apparently.)
-
When he said sometihng to the effect of
"Kleins back in the shotgun heres the snap, its The The Chamber, and hes running right"
gave me a boner
-
I liked it when Texas had a busted play that led to a few yards and he said the guy "made chicken salad".
-
GusHate is:
:powerespect:
and
:opcat:
Due is awesome.
Was so proud that he called our game last night but also embarrassed that we played like crap in his presence.
-
That weird chicken salad quote was hilarious/crazy.

crazy, but not weird. It made perfect sense.
-
I know, I was talking about something during the first part of the sentence and came right back to it right as he said "chicken salad" and I was all
-
gotta say I was really impressed with the FX broadcast. The announcers actually knew the names of the players and didn't talk about LSU/Bama the entire time.
-
loved their halftime intro videos made with first half highlights. Very well done.
