Post by: Dr Rick Daris on November 19, 2011, 09:54:55 AM
so for no reason at all, i'm trying to put together a list of zoo animals that make sounds that would fun for a group of large people to make. anyway, i'm kind of stuck and thought the combofanning board people could help.

i don't know. what kind of noise do they make? would it be a fun noise for a lot of people to make together at the same time?

It's very nasally. Lot's of sniffing, snotting and grunting. They can't open their mouths very wide so they don't produce a lot of audible noise.

How about a whale? Would you even consider mammals?

i mean the biggest thing is that they have to be animals that you can imagine being in a zoo type setting. i have been to a lot of zoos and have never seen a whale at one so i would probably not consider a whale. i just thought of a the best one though. elephant. i mean the noise they make is easy and fun and then you also get to do the whole thing with the pretending your arm is a trunk and put it up by your face and swing it back and forth thing. it's like an animal bogo.

i think you should mostly stick to ungulates.  maybe even just the wild bovines.  that way you'd have a consistent theme.

can you give me some examples? do they make fun noises or have things you can also do with your body to imitate them. i like sd's hyena idea.

you could do different horns and make wild mooing noises.  also stomp feet and shake head.

moose could be an auroch or a wisent, because he's from europe.  i'll check into what wild ungulates are typical of fresno.

i just checked, there aren't any wild bovines in fresno, so upshaw will have to be the guar.

also stomp feet and shake head.

I think this has some potential

hypothetically, if one of the bball players were to be a rattlesnake and i'm not saying one of them is, it'd have to be angel right? i mean it'd just have to be. again, hypothetically speaking.

also, and i'm really genuinely sorry to do this, but capybaras are back off and this time it's for good. i really just feel so stupid about the waffling there. sorry guys.

Now that I realized why you ask this I realize my silverback suggestion would be wildly inappropriate

next moap.   Everyone pick an animal & simultaneously imitate it for 20 seconds in a public setting then go back to your regular business like nothing happened.

It will be the next flashmob like sensation.   Record it to bring it to a planking/owling/tebowing type of level & before you know it, Davis Moore will be doing shitty car commercials using it.

you're welcome world.
