Looks like the recruiting high from Moose and Upshaw has worn off

Losing to Texas
Iowa State though :ohno:

you will all have looked like fools.

Is there a football only equivalent to sys on the board?
related: are there any football onlys that are even somewhat clever?

May the lord strike you down with a bolt of lightning.

Guess that would depend on how loose your definition of clever is? Speaking of loose, why don't you go make out with sys or something..jeeze :moreira: (ftp://:moreira:)

Sys is so jealous

you will all have looked like fools.
Then we will be even more insufferable all hoops season. :combofan:

i just mean that it seems probable and you don't appear to be considering it.
-
Mods, can you move all of sys' posts back to the basketball board in a thread called "sys' stuff" (has a nice ring).

mods, don't do this.
-
he's right.
-
no, it's not probable that we lose either. there's nothing to support that.
-
I mean he's right that we would all look like fools

Possible, yes. Probable, no. It would really piss me off if you were right, though. The only thought that kept from a "shut your whore mouth" post.

i just assumed you'd still look like fools and be miserable if you lost to ut and then whatever is going to happen vs isu happens.

This thread seems a bit ridiculous now.

sys is mean. He is also petty.

it was obvious that texas had the better team. you can't depend on random events falling in your favor forever.

I've thought the same thing since Miami. But yeah, I totally agree we're losing to ISU.

While completely unconventional in almost every way, there is nothing random about K-State consistently winning.

c'mon _fan, you may be a complete kstate homer and also a scheme-it-up coachey type homer, but you also know stats. the stats don't lie, kstate's success this season has been 99% random.

this is a sys meltdown if I've ever seen it.

i'm a pretty big dumbass but i think yes and no. if kstate was down 10 in the 2nd half tonight then i think things (offense) would've looked a little different. snyds seems to dial it up when they are down and dial it down when they are up. i'm a kstate homer too though so idk. agree that kstate really shouldn't have won tonight. disagree that texas is obviously the better team. the course of the season and not this single game would tend to agree w/ me.
-
Jesus. Beating Texas is so not a big deal at all. They kinda suck.
-
wow, is this a "backdoor cuts and bounce 2 handed chest passes" type meltdown from sys?
-
this is a sys meltdown if I've ever seen it.
this win (and this season) will hurt us in the long run, and deep down you know it.

You know my position on the coaching situation. It is entirely possible you are right. But you know what sys? La-la-lalalala Live for today. Who the hell knows what is coming next?
-
10-2 is pretty damn near the top of the mountain, if you can't enjoy it (sys excepted) life has got to be tough for you

In some ways maybe. But if this is completely random then the odds of all this random happening in one season is astronomically small. Therefore I'm going to enjoy the heck out of it,

what a dipsh*t. bump.

This is a case where the amount of success in the short run makes it all worthwhile, though.

relentless aggression.

go update that 2014 thread, doofus.

_FAN is right. Whether this season is due to coaching or fluke, you should enjoy it.
Fracking K-State fans should embrace a fluke season more than anyone. We've been the victim of fluke games and seasons more than about anyone, it seems.

One more thing: while our Cats have been the recipients of some luck this year, they've been in position to benefit because of Snyder's Moneyball approach: he's found undervalued assets and used them to get win after win.

Yes. It's impossible to win by luck when you are down by multiple scores. Snyder deserves coach of the year for this season, and it's really starting to look like 2004 and 2005 were astronomical flukes.

you're good at what you do, you just aren't a bball poster.

to add to this
good teams put themselves in position to have those "bounces" help you win shitty teams catch breaks from time to time, good teams capitalize on them

Actually, really good teams win most games by a lot (and don't put themselves in a position to lose). KSU has benefited from a bit of smoke and mirrors this year, but the smoke smells amazing and makes us all high (in a good way) and we look amazing in the mirror. Credit goes to Snyder for putting us in a position to win every game (but one). It's really been an amazing coaching job by Snyder even if we lose a few of those close ones.
But to deny that even a little bit of luck was involved to get to 9-2 is kind of foolish.

There's no luck involved. This is clearly Kleins religious zeal summoning all the powers of the Holiest of Holys to smite the teams that we play just enough that we can squeak by. Old Ballz would be 2-9 without the miracles provided by Klein and his large contingent of religious zealots, praying us to victory.

"Luck counts, too." — Charles Bukowski
Best luck we got last night was the call on the fumbled punt. At least a 10-point, perhaps 14-point swing. Winners are lucky, re: Bayor and the deflected TD pass.

A bit, but they were also products of bad recruiting/balancing classes. A case in point was that list from 2002 of 4/5 stars that someone posted last week. All 10 of those guys were JUCOs and only 1 of them became All Big 12 1st/2nd team. Two more were HM. But overall Snyder rolled the dice with a JUCO heavy class and it didn't pay off. If anything that may have been the biggest lesson he learned. I can see why he did it because the 96 class was similar, but it paid off with contributors, but most importantly Michael Bishop. Otherwise the 94-03 run was built on mixing in impact JUCOs with mostly what would now be 3-star kids from Texas, Florida, and Kansas that were developed. Also a few early impact HS kids mixed in. That seems to be what he's trying to do now, but with a slightly different strategy of offering more guys earlier than he did back then.
