Best case scenario is McOboards and Brickwell will eat up all of the minutes at the three.  However, until AR-T gets better defensively I could see Will, Rod, & Shane on the court a lot at the same time in big spots.

I was getting so sick of 'tards talking about how awesome Jamar was going to be as a 3. Good to finally see the dream die.

Agreed.  Special thanks to Jamar for absolutely refusing to make the transition.  This all couldn't have happened without him.

I think the 2010 Phillips 66 OSU game made us all want this so bad.

Time would prove that Jamar the Three was just a cruel mirage.

It's not like Frank trotted him out at the 3 a bunch anyway.

I still want him to bomb 3's like crazy (like 2010 OSU). But the 4 is probably the best place for him to do that.

p.s. did he even play much at the 3 last year? It just seemed like something that was talked about but never really happened. :ck:

I wanted him to play the three.  If it would have worked the roster flexibility would have been awesome.  Rod, Jamar, Jordan, and Big Gip on the floor at the same time would have been

If JamSam had ever displayed 1 of the following 2 abilities, I would be all for him seeing more time at the 3, just 1 of these:

1. Creating and playmaking off the dribble.

2. Being able to adequately defend opposing wings on the perimeter.

I've seen little evidence of those from Jamar, and in my book at least, 3's should be able to consistently perform at least 1 of those skills.

And yes, I love the JYCing, 3 balling, vs OSU @ Phillips JamSam just as much as anybody.

Yep.  It was worth a shot, Frank moved on.

i just want him on the floor at the same time as gipson and JO, that's my interpretation of him playing the 3.

Won't work most of the time.  One of them would have to guard the perimeter.  JO can do this when it is another big, but not a 3, Jamar is horrible at guarding 3's outside, and I don't even want to see Gip try.

like Jamar at the 4.  When he is on the floor AND if he can hit an outside shot (even if it’s midrange), it should open up the paint a bit for JO or The Big Gipper (<--do we shorten this to TBG?).   That being said, Jamar has shown that his consistency is his inconsistency, so I should probably just hope that he JYC’s the heck out of Brickwell’s shots and gets back to his garbageman roots.

If all else fails we can just send him in to double foul the other team's best player

The hope here should be that Nino can play the 3 effectively.  Can hit the outside shot, seems v athletic, and seems strong.  Just hope he doesn't suck at it.

It is Big Gip.

If all else fails we can just send him in to double foul the other team's best player

This may prove to be Jamar's basketball destiny.

This is it now.  The three was his future in Bball.  Now he needs to focus on being the best college baller he can be.

I wish Gipson's last name were Gibson so his nickname could be a palindrome.

This thread is an abortion.  Years of absolute suckage have made you dooshes blind as to what skills an adequate 3 should have.
