Title: No meltdown necessary
Post by: ednksu on November 05, 2011, 10:48:14 PM
Great freaking comeback.

Lynch mob still has a road to travel

The offense shook off an absolute crap 1St quarter from the coaches to put us in a position to win.

I think we lost this game with the 1st quarter offensive play calling.  Like OU redux.  Play calling from than on was 10xs better.

I wanted a KSU win very badly, but good lord. This was the most exciting game of the year. Loved it all.

yeah our play makers on the offensive side stepped up.  D tried, but you can't do it all day against a team like OSU.  Good to see picks (1for6).

This game falls on Cosh's shoulders without question.

after OU this doesn't hurt.  If we got raped it would hurt.  This team showed it can out play the coaching and crap play calling.

true.  Cosh is who we thought he was.  Another record setting night for the opposing QB.

CK came to play.

Crap play calling?  We just scored 45 points on the #3 team in the nation.  Defense couldn't stop anything.

Absolutely no reason to meltdown.  Defense was bad, but you knew it would be, and OSU is rough ridin' good.  We went down swinging and did way better than anyone here could have possibly thought.

This was on the road too!  AT NIGHT!

Huge deck stacked against us.

10 turn overs on the season and we nearly get 50% of that in one game.  2 more near TOs we should have had.

why? we just took a legit NC contender to the mat.  Had the entire talking point deck stacked against us.  Was raped the previous week.  And did this.  It sucks, I wish we would have won.  It was haymaker after haymaker.

Dude.  When ESPN who usually at best gives us backhanded complements talks about us having a good game and actually shows us having HIGHLIGHTS.  There is nothing to meltdown about.

There is no reason to meltdown after this one. Being frustrated with the loss and mistakes that were made on both sides of the ball is fine, but to go overboard isn't necessary.

Now move on and win next week in what is a very winnable game.

On the 5 yard line with 15 seconds and a timeout.  And we threw three times.  :flush:

I do wish we had a TO to allow CK to give it a zone read or spread draw.

I'm actually cool with the playcalling.  Passing was working pretty much all day.  Klein threw for over 200 tonight, right?

Any type of zone or stretch read I wouldn't agree with, too much time. A draw is even sketchy, but not bad on 2nd down after we spiked it. Speed option to the boundry may have been the best call and probably what I would've done.

We would have burned 9 seconds at the mesh point with a zone read.

Sure.  We have two running plays or three passes from 5 yards away.  Hell, I think I might call two quarterback sneaks.

Straight QB run with Hubert and Farm Boy leading the way (for the 20th time).  You have two shots, pretty good chance of scoring.

I would have loved to see  B. Wilson behind the RG/TE or McD/Tana with Hubs or CK.  We were blasting them pretty good.

Yeah, I would agree with that. Especially when we had them spread out.
