Title: Bag O tricks
Post by: I_have_purplewood on October 24, 2011, 06:50:27 PM
Come on guys, everyone here is thinking it but I'm the one who will ask; How many trick plays come out this weekend?  Will he save them for OSU?  Maybe A&M?  All I know is that it would be a real treat to see one or two this weekend! :sdeek: (ftp://:sdeek:)

Please feel free to speculate how the trick play will unfold if one does in fact happen... (ftp://:party:)

Is Pease running off-tackle out of a wildcat formation a trick play? If not, there will be zero trick plays.

If you knew Bill like I knew Bill you would know that something out of the ordinary is going to be called on Saturday.  Something magic, mysterious, marvelous, and magnificent.

Will almost certainly be a trick pulled out of Snyder's big ol' bag of tricks.  Snyd's tricks work well because he lulls (schemes) people into believing he is crazy conservative.

this is one area that snyder could definitely take a few lessons from ron prince.  for years i've studied snyder's trick play calling.  i've analyzed the entire envelope of trick plays under the snyder regime (both I and II) and quite honestly, i think there's a lot to be desired in this space.  oh well, i mean whatever i guess but no one will be surprised by any trick plays while snyder is on watch.  oh well.  i guess beggars can't be choosers, do you know what i mean?  what's that? trick question, i wasn't waiting for an answer.

Reminds me of top professional poker player Dan Harrington. He is regarded as a very tight, conservative player, so when he does make a huge bluff, he almost always gets away with it.

Snyder only breaks these out when our conventional system isn't working.

We've ran the reverse to the short side several times for 3 or 4 yards.

Right, I can see it now, ol' Ronnie explaining how to do his on-side kick masterpiece to OB's.    (ftp://:lol: )  How many people did that fool, phool?  ZERO.  You want to know why?  Because nobody believes a kicker could actually trip right before a kickoff, jerkoff...  (ftp://:lol: )

Hope this hasn't detoured anyone from posting their thoughts on what kind of trickeration is coming up on Saturday.

If I remember correctly, Stoopsie usually brings out a trick play, or two, when playing the Quatz. Usually a fake punt or fg attempt. Usually works too.
