don't they still owe him 6 million?

(same thing I said after KU beat Prince's brain in.  KU shouldn't have run up the score and kept him close.)

He's only been able to recruit (you guys have excellent recruiters if I remember you stating that at one time) a couple of years for this team and he needs several more so he can place players to play his style of game.  Mangino's guys are almost certainly sabotaging his game planning.  NEEDS MORE TIME.

it was pretty obvious, from the text from my buddy, that ku had equal or better talent than the EMAWs

if ku fans and mu fans totally had their way, both mangino and pinkel would've been fired after two years. firing either would be/would have been stupid. fire gill if you want, but way too early to decide on him.

can you imagine if mizzou would have fired pinkel after 2 years?  never would have went to the dr pepper game.  same can be said for gill.  fire him, and no dr pepper game.

Can you imagine how far at the bottom of the barrel they would have to scrape for their next coach if they only give turner 2 years
Title: Re: Today's debacle...

Is there a precedent for this?  Has any school ever fired a coach after only two years (other than coaches who have had off the field issues (Mike Price) or lied on their resume (George O'Leary))?

Gill's first season:  KSU 59   KU 7
Gill's 2nd season:  KSU 69, KU 21

Improvement.  Gill isn't going anywhere.

2.  Does KU want to wait for him if the 49ers go deep in the playoffs?

Bookcat... why are you so upset?

I miss your hullabaloo talking posts..and it bums me out that you have given up. This game was much more fun when KU cared.

7-0

and we're not done...this would be one less win that one of KU's all time greatest seasons' -08... Remember that one?
Title: Re: Today's debacle...
Post by: eastcat on October 22, 2011, 05:49:58 PM
Why? Gill is showing improvement.

1. KU didn't lose to and FCS team this year.
2. The offense can move the ball
3. Does the AD expect gill to beat OU, OK state, K state, and GT with is freshman defense?
4. The score was 21-59 this year, which is an improvement from 7-59 last year.

Damn, KU is so bad that somehow we scored 10 after the game was over. Sweet.

Shouldn't wait too long as KU will beat ISU and maybe MU, a win would douse the 'fire'.

No way Leavitt accepts a job where they just fired their improving coach after 2 years. Especially after the way he got bent over by his old administration.

This would be career suicide for any coach.
