Title: Sams
Post by: CNS on October 17, 2011, 01:14:56 PM
Will we see him next year?  Will he be able to overthrown TheHoneyChamber?

Will he become a wide receiver?

 :ohno:

I'd say next year he'll get mop up QB duty, I'd have him running the wildcat, and also play some slot receiver.

I think we'll see him on the field next year.  He might even play some receiver...but def be #2 QB getting some reps.  He might be the guy for the wildcat formation.  I think he'll play more than we think at the moment.

If he really is good its the ideal scenario for Snyder.

Redshirt->backup/get some snaps in games with big leads->take over the next year.

He will be like Klein.  He'll probably get most snaps at WR during games but be 3rd string QB.

Tuggle will backup Klein.  Snyder will salivate having two fifth year seniors running his offense.  It's his version of Nirvana.

If he's better than Klein, he should start at QB. Klein should have to earn his position next year.

I'm a little surprised we haven't seen him at all this year.   Figured we'd find some ways to get the ball in  his hands.  Guess they are serious about the RS and the strictly QB things?

Did Tuggle already redshirt somewhere?

6-0, bro

even at 4-2, you would be stupid to pull an RS off a prospect like Sams

I would hope they are. Pulling his redshirt at this point would just be ridiculous.

I personally agree w/ this, but it won't happen.  Bill is too loyal, and Klien is 6-0.  We will end no worse than 8 W's this year, barring major injury/ies.  No way he sits a 8-4 Kline

Sams getting snaps at WR spot would be valid if we weren't decently talented and deep already at the position. Keep in mind when Klein played WR in 09 we had Banks and Snipes at WR, but not much after those two.

I think we make Sams a full time QB and try to get him ready for 2013, unless of course his talent makes it clear that he can compete with Klein next year. Put in a couple packages to get him in next year, but Klein is likely the full time guy at the QB spot.

Would love to see someone who could throw beautiful passes into the collective outstretched arms of our beautiful and talented wide receiver corps.

Can you imagine Freemaw throwing to these guys???

I'm almost 100% sure Snyder will go full tilt to have a JUCO QB in the 2013 class to compete with Sams.

There is absolutely no way he'll go into 2013 with a two deep that consists of a RS-So and RS-FR as primary options.

Definitely, he'll bring in someone to compete with Sams.

Next year will be just like Beasley/Roberson all over again.

Then, in ten years, we'll all look back and say, "Man, I'd kill to have CK running this offense."

We have Lockett playing.  :dunno:  Just seems like our offense could use some explosive ball carriers and Sams' highlights certainly suggest that he is exactly that.  I'm not even saying we should pull his RS, just that I'm a little surprised we haven't yet.  Kinda makes me think he's not doing too much on the scout squad, or at least not enough to force the coaches hand.

I think we need someone w/ an accurate cannon/arm to throw to our amazing wide receivers more than we need an explosive ball carrier.

True but we don't have one of those on the scout squad.  I just think it would be neat to give Sams (or Lockett) a few diiferent carries a game.  Pretty sure we gave Tyler a reverse against TTU (might have been Tremaine) but they sniffed it out pretty well.

It was Tyler Lockett. Went for about 2-3 yds.

Why don't you go and cheer for the Jaysquawks.  We're a running team, get it, and rough ridin' running team!  Besides The Chamber don't give a crap.  teamhoneybadger  :nono:
