Any suggestions on how to respond when a co-worker cuts you off in the meeting? Happened 2x, in the last 2 weeks. Need a response, to restake meeting dominance.
Was going to go with a retallitory cut off like "anyway," kick in a smile, and finish off my point.
Anybody got any other suggestions?

I never talk in meetings. I just sit and wait for all the talking to end so I can leave.

Fanning their wife.
I've thought for a while that "fanning" would somehow end up being a verb on this site. Just never thought it would mean this.

Fire them.

I don't even understand how it would help here. So craka's supposed to follow the interrupta home and barge in the house and be all "Hey, Mrs. Interrupta, I own goEMAW.com!"

Had a rick daris like scenario with some co-workers. Thought I would lay out all the facts, my response, the results and how things are going forward.
I am in charge of supervising and evaluating a handful of people. I share this responsibility, and an office, with a colleague as well as all the workers. These are all women.
One day one lady comes up to me and says that two of the other ladies are yelling at each other. I come over and they are yelling at each other. Then they both start acting weird and turning to me to explain why the other one was being unreasonable. I listen and smile and nod for one round a piece, then say everybody get back to work and leave. I then go get the other lady I work with and tell her what happened and asked her to handle it.
Apparently they were mad at each other because one of them was late to a staff meeting and she didn't like the look the other lady gave her, then the other one said the first lady was always late when she brought food to the staff meeting, then the first lady said "you're nuts", other lady responds with "you aren't even a real Christian", other lady calls her "two faced" then I walk in and SCENE.
Anyway, this week the colleague I work with is going to bring some Qtips to this week's staff meeting and go over the QTIP acronym "Quit Taking It Personally." I will sit back, smile and wait for the next round.

Good point, Trim. All the confusion would definitely slow the process down. Cancel fanninging his wife.

Such revenge really can only be handled on a personal person-by-person basis. I mean, for it to really work well and long term. Need some more deets here to be anywhere near helpful

just watch a few seasons of the office. Dwight and michael will teach you all you need to know about resolving workplace conflict.
-
Liquid exlax in his coffee an hour or so before the meeting.

I never talk in meetings.
by far the best way not to get interrupted.
-
Today at my work the owner opened a couple a bottles of wine and a couple of beers and we all had an afternoon drink or two

Much like everything else in life, I feel like you should handle it like a prison situation. Since you didn't kick his ass the first time, you're his bitch now. Either you shank this dude or make sure to apply some lube before meetings.
-
Remember: 99% of people hate and deeply fear confrontation. Just interrupt him back very directly but professionally.

Corner this individual after work with a butter knife on the way out the door. Show pictures of their wife, kids, and pets and let them know you mean business. Than when your in these "meetings" make sure your always buttering something; toast, bagels, ect. and stare directly at them!!! Works all the time!

Find some really bizzare thing online for super cheap (the example I saw was Free Willy II dvd's for $1 iirc). Buy 100 of it (maybe more). Send them one of said item every day via interoffice mail until they go crazy.

I emailed a co-worker/client about some things i can do to help them. The email included multiple questions. All i got back in response was "yes."
How i can respond that will relay that i did not appreciate their BS reply and would like more information?

"I did not appreciate your BS reply, would like more information."
Or if you are non-confrontational: "I did not appreciate your BS reply lol, would like more information"

Is this a co-worker or a client? What kind of questions did you ask?

Don't help them?

I use a simple rhetorical question: "Do you ever get the feeling no one likes you?"
It immediately cuts down to their insecurities.
