This is why local control fails. I used to support local government's role in decisions like these until I actually had to deal with some local government hayseeds.

Now they will have a bunch of cavities, and the cost of dental insurance will sky-rocket.

The average person in that county will see an annual savings on their water bill of $0.29. That's less than $0.03 per month. This is why county commissioners who probably are already missing 3-5 teeth anyway shouldn't make decisions regarding the health of people in their county. The less responsibilities they have, the better.

Why increase annual revenue by $80,000,000,000 a year when you can "save" .03 a month on letting people's teeth rot?

Never had braces.  Didn't go to the dentist for six years.... went for a cleaning recently and no cavities.  Why?  Fluoride.

Quote
But critics seized on recent concerns about too much fluoride having side effects on young children and tea party-style fears of forced government medicating. Some speakers Tuesday compared it to Soviet and Nazi practices and warned of cancer, reduced IQ and deteriorating bones.

"Fluoride is a toxic substance," said tea party activist Tony Caso of Palm Harbor. "This is all part of an agenda that's being pushed forth by the so-called globalists in our government and the world government to keep the people stupid so they don't realize what's going on."

He added: "This is the U.S. of A, not the Soviet Socialist Republic."

Big corporate fluoride has Obama and the FDA in their back pocket. They'll be forcing their toxic chemicals on the unwashed masses as long as they are allowed to line the politicians pockets. Why do you think these occupations are taking place right now? I'll tell you. Fluoride retardation. Have you seen some of the interviews?
