TITLETOWN - A Decade Long Celebration Of The Greatest Achievement In College Athletics History => Kansas State Football => Topic started by: DQ12 on September 29, 2011, 02:26:04 AM

Usually at this point in the week there are some tweets from the athletic office or from D. Scott Fritchen that say something along the lines of "Only 1200 tickets remain to Saturday's game against...get tickets now!"
I haven't seen that this week. It would be a real bummer if we fail to sellout the most anticipated home game since Neb. last season, after selling out EKU and Kent.

K-State notes: Few tickets left for Baylor
Nearing a sellout
Fewer than 3,000 tickets remain for Saturday’s 2:30 p.m. home game against No. 15 Baylor. Bowl and sideline level tickets are available for $55. Reserved view tickets are available for $35.
•K-State’s defense is currently ranked sixth nationally after allowing 411 yards and 24 points to Miami. The Wildcats, who entered last weekend ranked first, are allowing an average of 164 yards and 10.3 points.
•Snyder said offensive lineman Shaun Simon, who opened the season as K-State’s starting center, may be available to play in the coming weeks. Simon suffered an injury midway through the Wildcats’ first game against Eastern Kentucky and hasn’t played since.

It will be a sellout by Saturday.

Thank goodness.

yeah, i never understood how we sell out OOC games so easily, but struggle in big 12 play.
must be the increase in ticket price. we aren't all lawyers here! (shot at dlew12) :D
-
Some of the tickets left have to be from Baylor's allotment. There's no way they sold all their tickets.

Well they are 55 bucks compared to like half that for OOC games right? I get season tickets so I guess I don't really know, but I think that's a big part of it to the "common fan"

it is the reason. they had ten dollar tickets for the first game and four paks of tickets for 75 for the second. that means that a family of four could've went to both of the first two games for less than half of what it would cost them to go to the baylor game. this isn't hard to figure out fellas.

Kinda thinking I should give Luke-KSU my tickets to the Mizzou game I'm missing. :(
-
Someone give Luke's poor ass some extra tickets for Pete's sake! Also, hope Simon is back and plays well.

I am not pro-simon. We have had better offense the 2 games without him. I say why juggle variables.
-
Simon is our starting center, which means he is better than our other centers. Dude had a bunch of offers from legit programs. The other options are walk-on type dudes. I would rather have the 335 lb badass than the 295 pound kid from Buttfuck, KS. :dunno:
-
What if we were to sellout all games this year? Would be pretty cool.
-
crap, I didn't know he was from Buttfuck. What a shithole. Simon it is :ksu:

Watch out Nebraska!
:D

I gotta say I really appreciate CK taking time out of his busy schedule to call people in order to ensure people show up. Shows he is committed to winning here at K-State.
-
Too lazy to drive down for the game. Johnson county is pretty far away.

Per Brian Smoller on Twitter, we've got about 1000 tickets left.

Woot-off!

If we give the tickets to Ft Riley soldiers does it count as a sellout?
-
I think if we get through this game and keep winning we have a shot at selling out the entire season. Would be good tradition to start imo
Dunno if we can sell 1k on gameday, especially when they are 35/55
-

By ku's definition . . . absolutely.
-
I'm sure those ticketsare upper-deck anyway. Those things shouldn't be more than 20 bucks a pop anyway.
-
whats the groupon code?

pics of stack of free tix?

did it end up being a sellout?
-
stadium was full except for the corners in upper deck. No idea if it was technically a sellout.

Doesn't look like it.
ATTENDANCE: 49,399

I'm assuming tomorrow is a sell out right?

Saw someone announced this on Twitter on Tuesday or so.
-
"All tickets, both reserved and general admission, are sold out for this game."
-
Good. Looks like we're going to pack it with purple.
-
Not sure but I believe they are selling standing room only tickets for the grassy hill on the east side for 65 a pop. You have to go to the ticket office on Saturday in person to pick them up.
-
I really need people scalping tickets outside the stadium. :ohno:
-
You'd think we could set a post-DOD attendance record with all the undergrads that enjoyed it in '99 and '00 have kids now. Do kids ages 8-11 count in attendance?:dunno

Yes, kids 3 and up have to have their own tickets.

This is completely untrue

BigDcat is hardly an authority on the validity of stormnut's statement.

The stadium doesn't hold as many people now as it used to. The largest attendance ever was the Nubbie game in 2000 (snow), with 53,811. At the time, we used to put folding chairs in the north endzone. For really big games, they would cram nearly 4,000 folding chairs on the grassy hill. Along with putting a bunch of extra people on the sidelines and cramming a bunch of people in the various suites, Max Urick somehow counted 53,811 for that game.
Now, Vanier has been expanded towards the field, and the north endzone has only 1,900 permanent seats. Ever since that renovation was completed just prior to the start of the 2006 season, these are the largest attendances I have been able to find:
2010 UCLA 51,059
2010 Nubb 51,015
2007 KU 50,924
2010 Ok St 50,831
2006 Nubb 50,723
Based on that, our max attendance right now is about 51,000.
