2Y has to be on his last ligament with the staff. Surely they realize his liabilities and have a plan in place. Can we pull the shirt off anyone? Grif is gonna light him up.
-
Matt Pearson replaced him in the first game, he's a former CB and has a nice skill set for pass coverage, but struggles in run support. Thomas Ferguson is a run stopper who can lay the wood but can't play man coverage to save his life.
Pick your poison :lynchmob:
-
Probably Pearson, he's the backup FS. Ideally, the FS shouldn't have to hit as much as the SS. Ideally.
-
I just glanced at our DB roster and noticed we are scary thin at Safety. I know some Grey shirted but can't remember and it doesn't matter right now I guess. Other than some Western Kansas walk ons, these are the guys we may see on Grif Day:
#38 Pearson will get his fair share of Opps
#22 Ferguson is a possibility. Plays decent special teams
#31 Jerrard Milo is a wildcard and my super sleeper pick for some action. I remember some eye witness 'tuck reports about how he tore up summer 7 on 7's.
#7 Kip Daily. Surely with his length and knack they've at least tried out Kipper at Free.
One thing we do know is that 2y will get burned bad at least once. Or he'll get hurt. That's 2 things we know about him I guess. And he looks like Jon McGraw. That's 3.
-
Totally forgot about Daily. Seems like I've heard things about him. Can't be worse than 2Y, right?
-

When they were huddling up before the fourth and goal I kept noticing 7 looking really good in his uniform. I want him on the field for that alone.
-
I think it's gotta be Pearson. I haven't paid too much attn to him in pass coverage, but he's certainly athletic enough to not get owned by RG3
-
I don't remember Pearson really rough ridin' anything up, so that's a positive sign.
-
Wasn't Bubba Chapman supposed to be good? Maybe he could slide back to FS? Couldn't be worse than 2Y, right? He's not very big I guess.
-
#31 Milo will grow on you. He's my super sleep pick.
-
Played for Olathe NW and Butler Co. Is the little bro of Goolsby. eff it, I'm sold.

Because Tysyn plays "the right way" Bill will leave his rough ridin' ass in there to get burned the entire rough ridin' game. This is why I'm not excited for Saturday. It doesn't take a football genius to rewatch KSU tape are realize where our weakness is. Bill won't change a god damn thing. He cares more about "the family" than winning rough ridin' games. Anyone who wants to argue this go look at who are ST coach is and STFU. :bang: :bang: Anyone who thinks that Hartman isn't going to play the whole game and not be jogging 10 yards behind the Baylor receiver as they cross the goal line no less than 3 times on Saturday has lost their mind.

I don't think Tysyn plays the "right way", and I think Cosh is in charge of defensive personnel decisions. We are pretty thin at safety, if you look at the depth chart.

I don't care if we have to put a back up WR back there and tell him just to play centerfield, it's better than Tysyn. The guy does not have the physical tools to compete. His knee is still completely shot. When he goes to make a tackle he has to completely stop, then breakdown. By then the WR has veered slightly and Tysyn does that damn bend at the waist and dive at his feet to try to tackle crap. I don't care who makes the personnel decisions, Bill is the HC and by letting Cosh play him is giving him his blessing. Bill has every right to pull Hartman. But none of this matters. They left Tysyn in the entire 2nd half against Miami, and he will play the entire game on Saturday. If they start someone else over Tysyn, and it is not because of injury, I will completely change my opinion of Bill2.0 and Cosh.

Yeah, I'd agree. Hartman made some mistakes, namely the angle (and perhaps alignment) on Miller's long run and a miscommunication on the time Streeter got open over the top but Harris missed him. But overall I didn't think he played terrible. Snyder has always shown he'll play the best combination of talent and knowing what you are doing, Pearson simply hasn't done enough to overtake Hartman. I have no doubt he likely has more talent, hopefully he continues to improve on his knowledge of the scheme.

Arthur Brown misreading the play had a lot to do with Miller's long run too.

I have agreed with everything _FAN has said in the last couple days. I am just going to start saying..."yea - what _Fan said!"

What about replacing 2ys with Rat, and putting Bubba in at corner?
:dunno:
or Tate
-
How about replacing 2Ys with nobody? Just run 10 guys out there, confuse RGIII (I'll bet he's never faced a 10-man defense before), and that way, 2Ys will no longer be 'a liability out there.' :dunno:

#31 Milo will grow on you. He's my super sleep pick.
HS teammate of Tre's too.
Incorrect, milo played at Olathe Northwest his sophomore and junior years. His senior year he transferred to Olathe North where tre was a sophomore but had to sit out due to transfer rules and never even practiced with the team.

Replace 2y's with a wet paper bag, because that's the only thing that could cover better.

Thanks, I just thought I would help you guys with a drop on some of the information.
Milo transferred because he was upset with Todd Dain's overall player development and recruiting practices, he wasn't very aggressive in getting his players prepared to play at the next level or recruited as opposed to the staff at North like Flood, Catloth and McCall who served as assistants under Weir. Weir was responsible for players like Darren Sproles, Maurice Mack, and Arland oscar. All Simone winners.
Definitely a sound decision by milo but he should have made it earlier and he probably wouldn't have had to make his detour to Butler or had the family situation he has now. Judging from past experience he definitely has the speed to play safety but the speed of other players at the D1 level will probably catch him off guard at first.
Tre on the other hand is going to develop into a leader on defense, he has a headstrong mentality that is strangely very very focused and he has no problems assuming the leader role. Although not our biggest star, being on the same team as him was interesting to say the least.

Believe it Sabination, believe it.
Arthur read it right originally, but it looked like he thought it was going to be a playfake and rushed to the opposite edge in anticipation of a bootleg. By the time he reacted it was too late.

God a nitpicky son of a bitch you are. Quit running down and judging our best player!

Post injury Marcus Watts thinks he's slow.

Call the Thurs. 7pm show and make yourself heard then.

Bump as a reminder of this important factor. Pearson and Milo better be warming up.

Hartman is fairly good against the run. will be important today.

Really? I think he's good at taking up space and diving at knees. I hope Pinkel isn't scheming the seem routes and posts....we'll find out.

Hartman had a good game :D
