and propping up Baylor as the darkhorse to win the Big XII.....
BITB

Well, to be fair, Miami has been an incredibly average program over the past several years. Still an impressive win for K-State, but let's be honest... the U has been gone for quite some time.

Miami will still be in the running for the ACC championship. They are nowhere near their early 2000's level, but they are a pretty damned good team.

agree on all points...its just nice to win on the road...and with defense.
sucks to find out that Maryland is horrible...and Ohio State must be just gawd awful....right?
-
BITB is working his magic. If Baylor wins, he called it and it was the obvious call. If KSU wins, what a big win for the cats.

Miami got beat by the same Maryland team that just lost to Temple, 38-7. The ACC will come down to Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, and Florida State, imo.

5 starters were suspended for that game. The ACC will be the same crapfest it always is, and Miami will be in the hunt.

Temple isn't a horrible team, I'm not sure why people are thinking that's the case. Maryland barely lost to WV. These aren't dog crap teams, just 7-5 or 6-6 ones. Temple probably wins 9 games this year.
-
Don't know how the U will do, but Georgia Tech can't compete with its crappity defense.

Agree...also why I'm not gonna get too excited if we pull off a W this weekend. I know Baylor is a good team with some good athletes and they're ranked...but its' still just fuckin Baylor in my book
-
OregonHawk "Comparative Score" Master.
this might be a sad fact.....Georgia Tech isn't near as good as you made them look two weeks ago.
now with that being said, Miami isn't THAT good. we get it....but I think its tough to beat that group of guys in that stadium 1500 miles from home OR for any ACC foe this year. We'll just have to see their final home record.
KSU made has made strides on defense. It's obvious.
You know who isn't that good?
Northern Illinois

Same with Missouri the week after. When we beat OU to go to 8-0 I might get excited, but that game is at home. Maybe our win the following week in Stillwater will do it.

without half their team on the road, dumbass. do agree that those other teas will win the acc.

Yeah, Miami has been down. No doubt. Their years of 6 first-rounders in a season are probably behind them. (19 first rounders from 2001-2004).
But, they are a very solid team. They just beat Ohio State 24-6 last week. Yeah, i know, Ohio State is down. But, a down Ohio State is still pretty damn good. Just like a down Miami is still pretty darn good.
Kietz said that only 3 teams in the Big twen would lose to Miami down there - ISU, KU, and Tech. I think that statement may be a bit of a stretch.
KSU, OU, OSU and probably A&M would win.
ISU, KU, Tech would lose.
BU, MU, UT are toss-ups. I would not be surprised to see any of these teams lose @ Miami. whatever. a win's a win.
-
Baylors defense is pathetic.
-
Iowa State has wins against Iowa and UConn. Are they really any worse than K-State?

Funny, since he said on Friday the only way K-State covers is because Snyder is "the master at scoring one or two meaningless touchdowns late in games."
BITB!

Nope. I think they are going to give Texas a run for their money on Saturday.

LOL. Get the eff outta here, they're decent they aren't competing for the ACC. If there over/under for wins is 8 you'd be a fool for taking the over. There are 5 big 12 teams significantly better than Miami.
That was a nice win PK the road against another BCS team, but some of you are setting yourselves for a letdown if you don't think this win isn't any better than winning at Iowa State.
-

Maybe Iowa State wouldn't lose. They are improved. Iowa and UConn Ws were nice. Maybe they belong in the toss-up category.
Maybe I just look down on ISU b/c I can't remember them ever winning a significant game.

Anyone that thinks Iowa or UConn are as good as Miami (full strength) is a full blown Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).
Iowa State and TTech are 8 and 9 in the Big XII. KU is a DISTANT 10th (I honestly can't believe they weren't forced out of the conf in all this realignment biz, the Big XII blew a once in a year opportunity there).
K-State is in a pot of teams below OU, OSU and aTm in the conf. They could finish 4th and doing so would make for an exceptional season.

I would ask if you're really that dumb but we already know the answer to that. Because recruiting rankings are now how we judge how good teams its obvious that Notre Dame is easily one of the best 10 teams in America. Who gives a crap about how you actually look on the field, recruiting rankings tell the story here folks.

Miami had 8 starters out for the Maryland game and nearly won it. Something tells me Maryland brought it a lot more in that game than vs. Temple.
BTW, Miami had an OL with 75 starts between them in the KSU game, JaCorey Harris (who despite being turnover prone averaged 240 passing per game last year), as talented at RB as any, and experienced receivers....it was an offense that averaged 430 yards per game last season.
Wealth of experience on defense, too.
Maybe it's not 2001 or 2002 Miami but it's a VERY talented and experienced team that will beat a lot of people this year.
-
Whole lotta dudes on this site swear that recruiting rankings are directly tied to success on the field. (For the most part, they are.)
