The way I remember it, Martin was pretty positive around this time, although nowhere near as gung-ho as he seems right now. It was only later that he he said he didn't buy into the hype. Preseason, he had the team embracing the hype, because it (the hype) showed the team had earned the Big 12 coaches' respect.

But Frank's statements are fairly gushing this time around. It makes me optimistic that we'll go dancing this year. Is he for real or is he just trying to sell tickets?

3. Frank basically said that omari isn't athletic anymore, but hey he can shoot

Frank was just optimistic at this time last year because he just received a truckload of Vagisil that he thought might help Wally maintain his balance. Oh and he had this vague notion that CK's tweets about Manhattan changing his life might mean less smoking. Deluded hopes.

This year: 1) No major pre-existing problems with players. Aside from Omari's hair/tweets. 2) Much more JYC roster, less bitchy. 3) No preseason hype. Like Zero. I will pretty much always be able to get more excited about this type of preseason.

I think they start from the top of newshound-types who want to get cheaper seats, then go to the people in the cheapest seats who want to upgrade and bump them to the best ones, all to avoid having to deal with everyone who wants to move rather than just a few and then give the "welp" line to all of us.
