Post by: OK_Cat on September 21, 2011, 11:23:40 AM
yeah, you had a movie made about you, but did you not pay attention to what happened to the social networking giant before you when they constantly mumped with stuff?

 :dubious:

and don't get me started on google+....what a piece of crap.

My tweetdeck just auto updated on my phone.  Now I am being rigidly held to only 140 charachters, even in my RT's.  Used to let me run over an provided a link.

 :shakesfist: damn you tweetdeck.

I like how all the old people incessantly bitch about Facebook after every update.  After about a week everyone will be used to it and no one will care.

Doesn't matter. Once you're over 30 you shouldn't be on any social networking sites. Very creepy and loser-ish.

4 years left for me, then I'm done.

This is just Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).  How else are you supposed to waste time once you are over 30?

Pfft.  (yes, I am 32)

There are other more mature methods of wasting time, such as BBSing.

It's not just old people. I want to punch about half of my friends in the rough ridin' face. Someone needs to put up the 1st version of facebook up and let those losers use it. I'm sure they'll be real happy.

Twitter preys on people's overinflated sense of self importance. (ie- I don't give a crap what 99.999% of the population have to say)

Twitter supports the natural ADD that our society has.  Just rough ridin' tweet it and be done with it.  No need for build up, intro, or summary.

Yup.  Twitter has a clear edge with the narcissists, FB is more satisfying for snooping voyeurs.

I'm pretty sure facebook is actually trying to give a eff about privacy for once, hence the changes. If they don't keep up then they will be the next myspace and I'm sure Mark knows that.

Just an IMO.

Twitter is no different than xanga except for the allotted amount of characters given to share one's ideas. Everyone posts their own without reading anyone else's.

from comments, which are a gold mine by the way.

Quote from: Daniel-353659
There is a reason why Facebook is making things more complicated. To confuse the user and make it easier for the Government to collect even more personal information about it's users. Don't think so? look at how personal and intricate things are getting. Facebook not only builds a data base on it's user but everyone who comes in contact with the user as well...it collects personal information, cell or mobile phone numbers, etc. All the government needs is a name and they are able to track a user, their friends, their family, what they are doing, or going to do, etc. Facebook is becoming nothing less than a tracking device on the people who use it. The government has given Facebook a large sum of money so they can access it's resources to do just that....track us. Don't think so? Sometimes to see one only needs to look. But alot of people are not looking in that regard and that's why they continue to do it....and get away with it. Just say NO to Facebook.

the only thing more annoying than the "omg, facebook changed and i hate it" people are the "hey, it's free, stop bitching" people.

Facebook makes money from traffic.  Making stupid, unnecessary changes will result in loss of traffic = loss of money.   :dubious:

I was going to delete my Facebook account.  I put a message on my wall asking all my Facebook friends who wanted to stay in contact with me to PM me with their email by a certain date.  One of my friends wrote on my wall, "The only reason you're doing this is to beg for attention."  I wrote back, "You're right," and just deleted him instead.
