Title: I'm told that the Beebe meeting, was, well . . .
Post by: sonofdaxjones on September 14, 2011, 05:01:11 PM

kind of sad.

From what I hear it was extremely unbecoming for a person of Beebe's stature.

Groveling, tears, pleading, bribing, threats . . . all the emotions, all the phases, but he could not convince K-State to stay in the Big 12.   My source used the following words and phrases to describe the K-State administration during the process:  Steely eyed, driven, stalwart, unmoving, stoic, iron willed, unyielding, unmoved, and unrelenting . . . cold, distant, icy . . . sharks . . . Borg's in human vessels . . .

The only bright spot for Beebe was when UPKS offered to give him a recommendation and to make a few phone calls on his behalf.

Ya know, if Wefald was still our President, he would have hugged Beebe and told him that K-State is going NOWHERE no matter what.

Yes, then he and Wiser would have cried about it together on tv when trying to explain why the conference was going through all this.
