Title: Ortiz vs. Mayweather
Post by: Sambo on September 12, 2011, 08:13:48 PM
Thoughts? Predictions?

I'm going to make two bold predictions.

1. Victor makes it to at least the 6th round.
2. Victor gives Mayweather his first knock down.

Growing up with Vic and his brother Temo, I'm stoked for the fight this saturday. Should be a good one.

i hope you're right sambo.  vegas isn't giving victor much of a chance.

mayweather has been out of the game a couple years, and is a lot older than victor at 34 yrs old.
i'm pulling for victor, he seems like a good guy and floyd has had his day in the sun.  i can't wait to watch the fight.

Victor is going to get knocked out.

LOL, Mayweather hasn't knocked anyone out in over a decade.  11 of his last 19 fights have gone to decision (including 5 of last 6 dating back to 2006).

IT does suck that Ortiz is such a KU fan.  I mean, it would be a lot easier to root for him without the rough ridin' Jayhawk on his trunks.

That's only going to make the KO that much more hilarious.

Your obviously an idiot. Vic is one of the most down to earth people I've ever had the chance to meet.  I personally think that HBO wanted him to have more of a "tough guy" image which is why he comes off wayyyyy more cocky for this fight than any other. He's an all around nice kid. All I have to do is mention Mayweather to prove you have no idea what you're talking about.

ALSO.

Sounds like Vic's little brother Temo porked your girlfriend. I can personally guarantee Temo would knock your dick in the dirt.

Hey, buttstain, I've known Victor since he was in the 7th grade, and I consider him a friend.  He's had thanksgiving and christmas meals with my family several times.  But with that said, he's a cocky d-bag and this fame isn't helping any.

As for Temo, he's a useless piece of crap and he just rides on Victor's coattails.  I have no problem telling that to his face, because unlike his brother, he's not tough at all.

That was the most bizarre 30 seconds in the history of live television.  Boxing has reached a new low...and that's saying something.  The best part was when Mayweather tried to fight the interviewer.

Thank god for illegal live streams.  If I would've left my couch or paid for that turd I would've been PISSED!

You can see from one of the angles that Floyd didn't want any of Victors hug and wanted to get back to the fight so I'm not sure why Vic thought he could leave his hands down that long. Pretty damn good day for cat fans.

Mayweather was going to win anyway, but that was rough ridin' bullshit. I feel sorry for anybody that paid to see that.

Pretty disgraceful night for boxing.

Yes. It was horrible. Ortiz had to know Mayweather is a dirty fighter, though. He's a dumbass for not keeping his hands up.

Yeah, it sucks.  I had to go to the Hutch Juco fball game tonight and hurried home to find a stream.  Took only a minute and I saw only the replay of the end.  It kind of reeks of a fix too.  Pretty lame, I really like boxing as a pure sport but it is hard to get into these days.

People always look for fixed boxing matches. You can claim that any fight is fixed, but this is just too blatant for me to believe it. I think it's just a case of Ortiz being Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!), nothing more.

most likely, watching this gif it leads me to believe that the fight may have been on. Floyd went in for the tap and to fight.  Ortiz surprised him by going in for the embrace.  Floyd was in fighting position after the tap.  Ortiz looked to the ref for a signal to fight.

The only question was whether or not the ref had already given the signal to fight.  If he had, game on.  If not, should have been a penalty and a point for Ortiz, allow a recovery and then fight on.  The fact that the referee wasn't looking is pretty odd.
