it's kinda a blessing, really.  gave snyds a chance to get some new blood into program.  I mean, without retiring there's no way snyds could/would have gotten rid of the assistant coaches that led us to going from conference champs to the last in the north.  coaches like micheal smith, joe bob clements, mo lattimore, del miller, chris cosh.........

I wonder if we will fire snyder before the season ends if we are going to have a losing record. If we don't we are going to look really racist.

Yep.  We will actually HAVE to fire Snyder if this team doesn't improve before the 12th game of the year or else we will be HUGE racists.

Remember when Snyder kept an office in Vanier and kept showing up to work while Prince was there?

Hope he gets an awkward clusterf*ck of a media session on his way out, like Ron's

If we perform like we did in week one we should fire him...but Ron's teams got worse every year.

I don't recall opening the season with Texas during Ron's tenure

What?  I meant 2007 was a worse team than 2006, and 2008 was a much worse team than 2007 and 2006.

2007 started off good and then it went to shambles in mid-season culminating in an embarrassing showing vs Fresno State which would have put us into a bowl had we won.  That is why it still amazes me that Wefald insisted on granting Prince the big extension  prior to the 2008 season.  I don't blame Weiser for leaving because at least he had sense enough to not approve of that plan.  There should have been warning bells going off at that point.

Prince had to go.  He had lost every decent assistant.  And he had the best QB in the nation but was still unable to go to a bowl game.  It was a train wreck.

But the story here is that Snyder lied.  He's not back to calm the waters. He is back until he dies.  And unless we are complete garbage over the next few years, he probably will be here for as long as he wants to be.

That story also makes me believe that the Patterson deal was real but Snyder pulled some strings at the last minute to get back in.  The people who really know for sure won't be saying anything for a long time, if ever.

I think there is no doubt that Snyder can lead us to multiple Mountain West titles and he probably will.  Another coach (Patterson) would almost certainly have bailed when the Big XII dissolves next year.  Just like Frank Martin will.  In that context, LHC Bill Snyder V2.0 was the right hire.
