Title: We've NOW come full circle from 1989
Post by: Super PurpleCat on September 03, 2011, 09:01:35 PM
Again we now lose at home to the Eastern Kentuckys.

Again we are facing getting booted out of the Big 8 for our shitty football.

Except this time our big hero coach is at the helm for this final disaster.

Let that marinate for a while.

Enjoy your evening.

I was having those same thoughts (before the TD).  I kept having visions of the Austin Peay game we lost my freshman year.

We were facing getting booted out of the Big 8 back then?  Serious question, I was like 10 yrs old in '89.

Looks like my premature meltdown worked.

I'll try it more often in dire situations.

 :embarrassed:

It's still warranted, I think.

I don't think the situation is bad enough for SPC to post...yet. Just not downer-y enough.

Nothing gets me fired up more than a good disaster.

To be fair, it was a near-disaster.

What really has me excited is special teams play. That new ST coordinator seems to be working out well.

Were the ST's bad tonight?  I remember the fumble and the decent return from Garrett.  Seemed like we were pretty vanilla, as far as the return guys go and the fact that we chose to no attempt to block punts much.  Oh, and the missed FG.  That sucked but I think Cantele is a pretty solid kicker.  (Or at least I hope he is.)

2 muffed punts and a missed FG is a bad ST night against a 1AA opponent.

I don't remember the two muffed punts.  Blocking issues or the punter's fault?  Sorry, I've been hitting the sauce pretty well.

The return Hartman got hurt on was bad. And I forgot the blocked point.

You people are all drunk.  That's why kstatehd.tv won't have the rest of the games available until noon on the Monday following the game.

Get some sleep.

this may or may not have been texted from a slightly drunk rick daris to a couple of goEMAW members around halftime. hofuckingrendous special teams. and against eastern kentucky no less. fire whoever the eff is in charge of that. blocked punt. missed field goal. fumbled return. eff me. our special teams almost....almost...cost us a god damn game against a piece of crap team that we should manhandle in special teams. i mean we should just kill them in this.

Remember that time in the mid 2000s when we couldn't even make an extra point?  That crap was great.

Sometimes we didn't have a punter behind the longsnapper as well, but who's counting.

Also you guys forgot the block in the back on the only long return we had tonight, that was special

And don't forget we burned our first time-out because we didn't know what the eff to do when EKU lined up in their funky punt formation.
