wednesday night, i made everyone do that "sign here if you think we win" thread. :D
freeman smacked in the face w/the ball, phog goes nuts.
we score first, and prince has that confident clap.
then, they score like 8 straight TDs.
-
I thought we were going to destroy those guys. Man, oh man.
-
Firat purple pants game.
-
That was a tough one to watch, but since I'm a huge K-State pigskin fan, I watched it all.
-
Was in a bar in Glascow, MT. I asked this guy to turn it to ESPN (I think?) for the K-State game. He said something like "the Jayhawks are playing tonight?" Man oh man. This was right after we destroyed Montana Community College for Hayseeds, too.
-
That was my 21st birthday. Was very drunk/angry from that game.

Yes! we looked so good those first two games, it was just such a shock to get blitzed like that.

Seem to remember some stupid turnovers/plays that would have made the difference. Can confirm?

no, we just got destryoed. louis had like 650 yards.

I just mentioned this game in reference to the miami game in your other thread. Yes, this was the turning point game for me that season. Where I realized once again we sucked. The Miami game will be an important game for me this year. Miami was a new coach, sure, but they also most likely have a boat load of talent, and how we play against them will dictate how the rest of the season can go. If we win, or play a close game, (moral victory), it will serve to give the team confidence. If we get blown out... well, I don't think it will wreck the season, but self doubt could be pretty rampant.
That Louisville game was a mess. Didn't Prince throw Hartman in there on a fake punt from our 30 or something? I seem to remember a totally unexpected Hartman sighting that game.

Del Tremens warned us.
-
Deon's punt return!
-
I remember having so much confidence going into that game. Just thinking "Man, this is gonna be our coming out party. crap is back on track." And then after about 5 minutes it was like this :goodbyecruelworld:

Three turnovers to none and we lost by nine...

Looking at that I guess it would have been about 45 minutes before I lost all hope.
-
oh, man, our rushing that game.
-
Hunter Cantwell :chainsaw:
I was in Overland Park, KS at an establishment call The Other Place.

wait, thought you had a different name on here?
MODS?!

Hunter "Cantdowell"
-
That 6'-8" wide receiver that made like 90 catches against us. :shakesfist:
-
Louisville showing + struggling to put away LaLa the next week = me done with Prince
-
Was very, very pak'd for this game. One of the only things that I remember from the game was saying, "Wow, Muhammad Ali looks wasted" when they showed him in the golf cart on the sidelines. (I believe some less pak'd people in the room did not find the humor in this comment) Also, Deon's punt return was one of the best plays by an EMAW player that I have ever seen.
-
watched game at bar in St. Louis. no one seemed to care about that game. :comeatme:
-
Watched at a bar in Tucumcari, NM. True story
-
I'm still trying to firgure out why we went for 2 at the end.
-
Really a pathetic defensive performance, one of the worst of many during the Ron Prince era.
I remember watching that game, just looking at our defensive alignments told me they didn't have a clue, we never disguised a thing.
-

moral victory?

Isn't that by the Goodwill store? :surprised:
-
that was the game that the team ran sprints after getting home, correct?

If I remember right, it was just the defense!
Ronald was always big on team unity.
-
Is this the game where Ron buried the playbook?

i thought this was the game where everyone ran the stairs at 3 am.

I think Wyatt and Stan had to run stairs as well.

including coaches. still can't figure out why Freemaw was so prone to turnovers at the worst possible moment (unless playing Texas), and now he's totally elite.
-
Wasn't this the first game where we got a sideline dance preview from Ronald? I think it is. Nothing like the Texas Stomp, but something....right?
-
Loovull had 577 yards of offense, 303 rushing :horrorsurprise:
I almost forgot how bad our defense was those years.

Has it gotten any better? :dunno:
-
Yeah that was a really bad Louisville team that shredded us too. Neither of the coaches from that game are head coaches any more and neither well be again. Prince made the defense run when they got home lilke at 3AM and it was a Thursday game so they had class the next day. That was pretty much the beginning of the end for him. It was clear that nothing had changed with the defense from the previous year and it was going to be a long season.
-
I still want to know how in the eff we kept it so close.
-
Deon's punt return!
I thought we were somehow going to win after that.
-
I was looking at this game like it was a measuring stick, to see how we might stack up defensively against middle-of-the-pack/slightly above average Big XII offenses. Unfortunately it gave the answer, just not an answer I wanted to see. :flush:
-
That was my 21st birthday. Was very drunk/angry from that game.
You are shitting me. That was my 21st too. My night went much the same.

This happens all the time out here in SoCal

It happens to both schools everywhere but Kansas.

Last year we were in Lewistown, Montana, and this dude had a full on Texas get up on (hat, pullover jacket, UT beltbuckle, UT boots). He was way drunker than I was, and the guy I was with was a Nubb fan. So it was a fun night making fun of both of them.
