On a serious note, losing Sutton was the beginning of the death of K-State hoops. As 'Pad would say, "Sad really."
-
Ben would you figure out exactly which player leaving or moving on will be/was "the death of K-State hoops" and then inform the rest of kutuckville. I mean really, you guys are all over the map on this.
Thanks.
-
that was a great dunk. i wonder if he had baby batter on his brain and therefore had extra energy to jump with.
-
grats Dom! looks like he's happy back at home following Martin's advice.
sometimes though i wish we had a coach (i bet UT fans feel the same way) who cared more about the program than the personal well being of his team and staff.

It's been a gradual process, 'Pad. Sutton was merely the beginning of a long, slow death.
-

i had to rewind to make sure i wasn't watching a slam ball exhibition.

As opposed to the quick guillotine-like death ku suffered when Selby got you guys blacklisted by every future high level recruit ever.

Hard to feel happy for a guy that transfers to some NC school like that and is still in strict belief that he is going to the Association. Sad for Dom and for me(loved watching Dom).
-
can just tell by the bounce in his step that he is loving it in NC - association or not.

Nope, Marty is too rough ridin' stubborn. It's his way or the highway, there is no in between. The son of a bitch doesn't realize that there's a time to check his ego at the door for the betterment of the team and the program.
The worst thing that could have happened to Marty (and the best thing) was Beasley and Walker. They were his Texas wins and he was, at a very early point in his coaching career, fooled into thinking we could do what we did that season, by doing it his way. Truth is that his train ride on the Head Coaching Express is going to be a short one and when it gets to the station, you Martinites better be here to eat the crow that I've had slow cooking on my smoker.

I think this was the best and worst thing to happen to anybody who really gives a crap about KSU hoops. My expectations are so far out of whack, the whole 3 star fit thing just drives me nuts.
But hell, we got Pullen out the deal, which turned out OK. Diamonds in the rough, that's all we got.
-
diamonds in the rough are for mid-majors. we pay this clown to sign Bvlgari, he better get to steppin.

Good point. Most of these big dunkers end up as busts and transfer to small schools.

Good for you, John Wall. You proved both that you can play basketball better than Dominique Sutton and that you can get totally butthurt over getting your shot blocked.
Great video, though.

:bawl: this thread...it makes me sad

If Dom could stand in corner and hit a three, he would be a great Spur.

Things didn't ever seem completely comfortable in terms of Sutton and his place within the K-State program, and he backed up that assertion.
"I just wasn't satisfied as far as my role on the team as a player. It was what it was," said Sutton, who started all but one game in his final KSU season.
Finally, at the annual talent-stuffed North Carolina Pro-Am in Durham, known as "The Rucker of the South", video (like the ones above) exploded with different clips of Sutton dunking on Duke's Plumlee brothers and another with him battling highly-touted incoming Blue Devils freshman guard Austin Rivers.
Sutton's performances drew attention.
"I was a little hungry, I'm playing with a chip on my shoulder this year," Sutton said. "I wanted to get a chance to showcase my talent. Being at K-State, a lot of people really hadn't seen the true me in a long, long time."

Old article but worth reading...
http://www.theeastsideperspective.com/?p=2162
If you live in the Triangle Area and have not made it out to the North Carolina Pro-Am to see the competition then you are truly missing out. The fast paced, organized play is a great way to spend one of your mid-week summer evenings. So I went to check it out, for the first time, last night…and there was one player that truly dropped my jaw and opened my eyes literally every single time he touched the ball; North Carolina Central University transfer Dominique Sutton.
If you guys saw what I was exposed to last night, you would understand why he supposedly quieted North Carolina Tar Heel stand-out Sophomore Harrison Barnes in one of their Summer League games last week; he is an absolute pleasure to watch play. Last night, Wednesday the 20th, Sutton’s team – Team Jamison – absolutely annihilated 751 South by 50+ points. The game was close for about the first two minutes of play until Sutton threw down an alley-oop slam which turned my head along with the heads of many in the enthusiastic crowd. After a couple of fast break manly slams he caught the ball on the break-away for one more stuff in which he really wanted to please the crowd…let me be the first to tell you that the man took off from the right elbow and dunked the rock one-handed.
He, however, was not done. He then, in the second half, went on to play for only 10 minutes out of the 20 minute running clock period and had an ‘and 1? off of a fade-away 25-footer (a four point play in which he converted). He then went on to mix together certain skill sets in order to show the crowd his repertoire replete with ball-handling, power, and shooting. Truly a phenom that will head the 2011 NCCU Eagles squad – accompanied by CJ Wilkerson and Charles Futrell – that is sure to make a lot of noise not only in this area but around the nation.

that was maybe the most interesting thing kitchen has ever written.

NC Central at Indiana, tonight 9:30 on BTN
It'll be a replay(game actually starts at 6), if you just need to see Dom 1 more time playing ball, this might be your last chance.

Bethune-Cookman 60, NC Central 59
Holloman's clinching basket came after N.C. Central's leading scorer Dominique Sutton (16 points) turned the ball over with 19 seconds left. That was Sutton's second giveaway during a span of the game's final 3:39 in which the Eagles didn't score after taking a 59-58 lead on a Ray Willis jumper.

Ts and Ps for Dom and his many children.

I am almost certain that the guy who took the charge is pregnant now
