Title: athlon's "from an opposing coach" feature
Post by: fatty fat fat on June 24, 2011, 12:49:05 AM
LOVE this feature. went to dillion (east side) just to read it.

here is the bit about our cats

"they are the most well-coached, and physical team in the big 12. If they had the talent they did before he (snyder, bill) stepped down, they would be very dangerous"

I'm gonna say that is a quote from......Paul Rhoades....the second best coach in the league behind LHC Bill Snyder.

if I had to make a list of the current big 12 coaches in order of who I would want currently coaching my ksu cats number 9 and 10 would be Paul and Bill.

If I could do it, I'd photoshop Paul next to Bill at the pool with both of them reading each other's nice quotes in Athlon.

Quote
"That was an awfully nice thing of you to say, Paul."
Quote
"I meant it, Bill. And I appreciate your kind words about my morals and locker room speeches. I can't wait til the high school youngsters see this, amirite?"

I'm not excited about the coach of the fighting Havs stating that if we had talent, we'd be dangerous.

I bet it is the real best coach, Coach Mack.

Like all Iowans, Paul is deathly scared of water.

I'm guessing it is something Pinkel or someone on his staff might say.  Bill's dangerous to Mack regardless if he has talent.  Rhoads can't make that claim about dangerous because he's 0-2.  Gotta be Pinkel.  Outside shot it's a comment from someone on Baylor's staff like Jim Gush.

Just bought the Lindy's Big 12 Preview magazine tonight.

"Opposing Coaches View"
On how much Kansas State Will Miss Daniel Thomas:  "They will probably miss him a lot.  He was a very explosive runner.  But I think they will miss quarterback Carson Coffman just as much.   :surprised:  I know Collin Klein got some playing time last year, but he was pretty much a running QB.  Whatever the case, they need to move the football to keep that defense off the field as much as possible."   :blindfold:

Opposing Coaches View of the KU Jayhawks:

"Without a doubt, I expect them to be better this year than they were last year.  Of course, considering how bad they were last year, that's not saying too much."

"The good news is that they have seven defensive starters back.  Or is that the bad news?"

Is North Texas on our schedule again this year?  Because that sounds like it came straight from Dan McCarney's mouth.

I'll say this:  nobody does more with crap talent than LHC Bill Snyder. The fact that we made a bowl game last year with the defense (and QB's) we had is truly remarkable.
