Seemed like an easy nomination.

seems like I got butt hurt at Trevor a few years ago but I can't remember why. Might have been something like "he doesn't like us so I don't like him". Not sure really

You'd think it'd be easier to recruit kids knowing your head coach is in the HOF.

What hurts his image is being inducted with known cheaters Tressel and the Boz. DO they not have any standards in getting in?

Why can't the KU kids (especially Beems) just be happy for us for once?   :frown:

Quote
He's a good coach and perfect fit for KSU, but his accomplishments simply don't support him being in the HOF. Great turn-around of the program and he did well keeping them relevant. But his record against top competition leaves a LOT to be desired, and his hardware consists of, what... 2 conference championship trophies? Idk kinda lame.

Quote
It's quite the indictment on K-State and Manhattan when your coach gets elected into the Hall of Fame for winning a measly two conference titles in over 20+ years of coaching.  If K-State's football program wasn't such a dumpster fire before he took over, there's no way he'd be elected into the Hall of Fame.

Quote
Snyder is basically a poor man's Frank Beamer, and yet very few people would consider Beamer one of the greatest coaches of all-time.  The Snyder worship that emanates from 'Tater Nation is just another example of how that school can milk its relatively minimal success for all its worth, and then some.

So much butthurt over there from this HOF coach curb-stomping them over the last 20 years.  Maybe the 4th coach since Snyder's return will make them feel better.  Probably not though.

I really do feel for them. They have a right to be angry. When Bill started, KU's enrollment was miles beyond our numbers. Now they're in the back seat with only hoops to hang their hat on. If the two schools were houses, Kansas would be a 2,000 square foot ranch in Prairie Village built in the 1960s. Nice, once sprawling but dated and on borrowed time. KSU would be an estate on rolling acres in south JOCO with room to grow and a bright future.

It's not even original. I saw, I believe, Michigan fans referring to Michigan State fans as taters on a gameday Facebook link earlier last year. Typical, lazy squawk insult.

My daughter, Meredith, overcoming a tragedy in her life has given me constant inspiration, and of course the players, coaches and support staff I have been associated with over the years have been amazing, including my high school coaches and Norris Patterson and Hayden Fry.

Greatest Turnarounds in College Football History
1. LHC Bill Snyder, KSU
We got to get this guy!!!  :billdance:

Well besides the obvious reason, I'd like Bill to finish his career with less then 100 losses. It just looks and seems more prestigious IMO.

Which would be more impressive:  making it to 200 wins or finishing with under 100 losses?  Obviously I want both to happen, but reaching 200 would be a bigger deal IMO.

"Obviously this is a very humbling honor, and I am certainly grateful to those who nominated me, those who voted for me and for Steve Hatchell and the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame for all they have done for our remarkable game of college football," said Snyder. "It is, however, not a one-person honor but one for a large collection of wonderful people who have had a major impact on our program and any successes that I may have had. Recognition such as this would not have been possible for me if it wasn't for my mother's and grandfather's guidance as a young boy, nor for my immediate family (wife Sharon, daughters Shannon, Meredith and Whitney and sons Sean and Ross) who have sacrificed so very much over the years. Sean has been instrumental in our successes as a player and a coach and as well the all-encompassing job of handling our operations. My daughter, Meredith, overcoming a tragedy in her life has given me constant inspiration, and of course the players, coaches and support staff I have been associated with over the years have been amazing, including my high school coaches and Norris Patterson and Hayden Fry.

"You just think of all the people who have invested so much," said Snyder in his opening statement. "My family, my wife, Sharon, and my children Sean, Shannon, Meredith, Ross and Whitney, they have been a tremendous inspiration to me, every one of them, and they sacrifice so much. When you think about those things, this isn't an individual honor, I don't think any of us receive it that way. So many people invested so much in giving me the opportunity just to progress over a period of time.

Fixed!

What am I missing here? They are completely different quotes.

I dunno what trim said but at the hall of fame thing LHCBS forgot how many kids he had. Pretty classic Bill.
